Using Non GPU PCIe Cards in Core X (Thunderbolt 3)

Hello,

I bought the Core X to power a Vega 56 GPU with my MacBook Pro. I recently upgraded to an iMac Pro. I am not going to keep the GPU card. However I was wondering if I could still use the Core X with other PCIe Cards... such as cards that can house multiple m.2 or mSata SSDs. I know the power is overkill, but thinking maybe down the line, I might way to do another eGPU setup again. If I do, then I could buy a smaller PCIe Enclosure for the SSD cards.
