  1. Join Cosplay SF and our team at RazerStore San Francisco on Saturday, August 27th from 6 PM to 8 PM dressed as your favorite video game character! Show off your costuming skills, be your character and meet other cosplayers throughout the evening.

Cosplay judging will be based on two categories; Workmanship and Performance.
    • Workmanship: Entries are judged on both the overall appearance of their cosplay and the quality of the construction of the costume. If an outfit includes a combination of created and purchased items, any purchased pieces must be disclosed to the judges. Judges have the exclusive ability to determine a costumes eligibility in the workmanship contest.
    • Performance: Entries are judged on their representation and presence, i.e. how well they can act like their character and how well they present themselves in character.
There will be one main winner chosen per category as well as honorable mentions or “shout outs.” This competition will not have a skit section for performance due to time and space constraints.

    RazerStore Cosplay Contest Rules
    • All cosplay contest contestants must be registered with staff.
    • No blatant nudity/adult related content. This event is rated PG-13 and we are located in a public space with glass windows. Please use discretion with your cosplay, props, and presentation. No nudity. No costume is no costume.
    • Anything which is restricted or prohibited behavior within the confines of Westfield San Francisco Shopping Centre is applicable to RazerStore’s rules. Please keep bad language to a minimum level.
    • Purchased costumes or rented costumes will not be allowed to compete in the Workmanship category. These may be entered in the Performance category only.
    • Your entry must be finished before you get to the store; no additional construction. Final assembly of large pieces and/or props and unexpected repairs will be allowed.
    • All weapons must be non-working and peace bonded by staff. No functioning projectile weapons – including water pistols, silly-string guns, and ping-pong pistols. Bladed weapons must be cased or sheathed at all times. By attending you accept any legal and financial responsibility for damage your weapon may cause to persons or property. Only props which are part of a cosplay and suit the costume will be allowed.
    • Props may not be brandished, flailed around, or used for play-fighting or otherwise.
    • Certain weapons are banned no matter what:
      • Anything which is illegal or restricted in Westfield San Francisco Shopping Centre, the City and County of San Francisco, State of California, or the United States in general.
      • Any object that can be considered a real weapon. This includes, but is not limited to: Live steel, baseball bats, paddles, whips, floggers, batons, edged weapons (i.e. swords, axes), glass props, or any object heavy enough to be considered dangerous.
      • Bows are not allowed strung, and arrows, if applicable, must be secured in the quiver
      • Firearm Props which could be mistaken for a real firearm. This includes airsoft, bb, and any training firearms (made of metal, plastic, or rubber).
      • Conditionally, firearm props must have non-removable orange tip which extends at least one inch up the barrel. They cannot have any functional parts, and must not be useable.
    • All contestants must be able to move their costume on their own.
    • Participants will be required to sign a liability release and a release for use of video and photo images.
    • All applications must be submitted before 4 PM PST of August 27, 2016. Please list props, if any, in your application.

The Judges have the right to eliminate any entrant from the competition on the basis of taste, danger to the staff, audience, building or yourself, violation of any of the above rules, or any other reason deemed sufficient. We want everyone to be safe and have fun during our event. :)

OKAY! Now that we've got the rules out of the way, go out there and be the (very) best cosplayer you can be (like no one ever was)! Come on in, hang out and best of all, you can be someone else!
