Viper 8k Connectivity Problems

Hey there,
recently I bought a Razer Viper 8k but the first time when I plugged it into the computer - a desktop pc, MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk motherboard - nothing happend, no Windows Sound, no Mice Symbol on Screen nor RGB Lightning at the Mice itself.
So I took the Mice, turned it arround and pressed on the DPI Button and suddenly the Mice turned on and Windows gave me the USB Plugin Sound.
I quickly tried to update the Firmware which I've downloaded from the Razer Homepage and after I've done so, I've switched immedietly to Synapse and everything seemed fine to work. But after a PC restart, the same problem again. After I configurated the USB Device Energyrules, I also recognised that the Viper 8k is shown as "HID-Complient Mice". That was quiet curiouse to me, cause I was used to see my old mice - razer basilisik - by it's product name and not as a HID-Complient Mice, but anyway, nothing really helped out so far.
The Mice is working for a uncertain time before it starts to drop off the connection with an almost instant reconnection. Sometimes it's really going crazy and does multiple dis- and reconnects for almost 2 min.
Also a complete discard of the device itself and it's driver throughout the device-manager hasn't solved the problem.
On the Eventhistory also occured an Error with the Event ID 411 regarding Kernel HID. Error 0x15 showed up along a target on the mice driver.

Has anyone experienced similiar problems or may know a solution for it? I truly hope to not drive to the store again to give it in return 😕

Of course. I tried it multiple times when ever I was going to change major driver settings.
So far I found a way now which seems to work.
I‘ve uninstalled razer synapse. Afterwards I‘ve deleted the program files manually. Then I‘ve restarded the pc and unplugged every mice.
I went to the device manager and turned the undected devices on, therefor I was able to see the razer mice devices he registered eventhough they were all unplugged.
Then I tabbed me through the entire HID Device Section and uninstalled and deleted every single device + it‘s driver which belongs to razer. Afterwards I also checked the Mice Device Section to make sure that not a single Mice could remain and went into the driver folder of the windows system and looked out for any driver made by razer which could have been still be left and deleted them, too.
After all this hell of work I restarded the computer and only plugged in the razer viper 8k.
The computer hasn‘t recognised the mice by default, so I had to play arround with the freaking DPI Button again, but as soon as I was able to install synapse again everything was almost working. The mice still behaved on it‘s disconnect-reconnect manor.
I‘ve went to the device manager, turned the undected devices in the HUD on and changed the power settings of the new device entries again, so the computer is not able to switch it off in order to spare some energy.
Since that it seems to work. I turned off the computer by now and tomorrow I‘ll check if it‘s now working the proper way. Otherwise I‘ll take a step back to the store again.

from what you have done, all i can think of is hardware issue. you have tried everything. not sure how Razer Return works ( i mean if you can drop it by mailing box without charges i think thats great option but it will take sometimes to get replacement, best option right now is go to the store and ask for replacement )

Just in case, provide video on your phone about the issue. so you can show them that, indeed hardware issues if they asked

Yep. I highly assume that it is all about an hardware issue.
I already made a video clip showing the device manager, the razer synapse app and multiple USB Slots where I've plugged and unplugged the mouse without any reaction by the device.
I'll go to the store next week. Shouldn't be any problems to get a replacement. I got the bill and the transaction was on thursday last week, so not even 7 days have passed.
Also on those big electronic markets most of the employees don't really give a shit about returnments. :D

I hope that the new device which I hopefully will get as substitue for the broken one - don't know if the store has any viper 8k left, on thursday I had to ask someone and he had to bring one from the storage - will work probably.

Thanks for your time and your try to help me out 🙂

ROFL, thats facts i guess :D
oh by the way if indeed they have in store Viper 8k, i would suggest to try it out there. to make sure its work just fine, if u get it from razer store. they are cool. and happy to help u out with something like that. if its bestbuy or target im not so sure

Yep. I‘ll indeed ask for trying it out first.
But that won‘t be any problem. Actually here in germany we don‘t have anything like BestBuy or Target. I‘ve bought it in a store called MediaMarkt - it‘s a big frenchaise store, too but only for electronic devices such as TV, Printers, Games, Computers, Monitors and so on. But the workers there are really helpful and friendly. So tomorrow in the early morning hours I‘ll strive right into it and give it in return 🙂

Well, they had no Viper 8k left, so I‘ve made the decision to spent a bit more bugs gaining the Viper V2 Pro, which works totaly fine and seemed to be good decision. 😃

I owned couples Viper my self
2 of Viper Ultimate ( one of them is Cyberpunk Edition got this one from give away by Luck 😃 ) and 1 Viper Mini ( although still waiting for Viper Mini Ultimate 😣 )

One thing i can assure you is nothing can go wrong with Viper Family. hands down! Their shape is just perfect for small palm to big palm thats one of the reasons.

Congratulations for your first Viper :D
I just hope you dont get too addicted
with Viper Family :P

They can be very tempted
sometimes :v
Damn.. Why do you have so many vipers? :D
I mean, nothing wrong with having some devices in case of one gets broken. But seems like you are collecting them just for fun xD

Now I'm only facing the problem with the DPI Button being on the Backside of the mice.
I thought "setting up a macro, so I can use the Micewheel Klick by holding it to switch DPI profile for e.g. should be easy to do!" but nope.. Whether it's Synapse Macros or reWASD. Noone offers me to even setup the DPI Button Behavior to a remapped key of my choice. But always turning the mice just to switch from my low DPI profile to my regular is no option for me tho.

go to synapse and choose sensitivity : and set up ur DPI settings, then use cycle up stage for your scroll click

Yea. That‘s kinda what I‘ve now doing. But actually I got the ping-marker on scrollwheel click to locate enemies nearby that I‘ve seen to show them to my mates.
In a perfect world I would like to keep ping-marker on once-click scrollwheel and changing DPI Profil by holding scrollwheel clicked for 5 seconds. So the button has the behavior of two actions which differs regarding to my click behavior. But this, I suggest, wont happen that way 😃
