Viper 8kHz Not Detected by Anything

Good day,
My friend recently has given me a broken Viper 8kHz which has some interesting symptoms.

1. No lighting
2. Not detectable in any computer I plug it into (Mac OS, Win 10, Arch) and is unresponsive both with and without Synapse and the firmware updater.
3. Optical sensor is visibly lit and placing an object over it causes the "dpi stage" light to pulse rapidly. Also, holding the DPI cycle button causes light to pulse longer and longer over time. I think this is normal(?) and initially makes me believe that the mouse thinks it's working right but there is an issue with usb communication.

I checked continuity from the main board to the USB connector and everything seemed good. A decent rubbing alcohol cleaning yielded no changes. While powered reviled that the usb rail voltage is pulled down to 3-ish volts and removing the j2 connector housing reviled that D6 has a splotch of a teal-ish gunk potentially causing it to falling out of tolerance (0.6v drop and a 2v breakdown measured). D6 is connected to the power and ground rails making me wonder if it's meant to run at 3.3v, although I doubt it. Before the removal of D6 or reflow, I wanted to get some thoughts, troubleshooting tips, and suggestions before continuing.
Thank you for your time,

UPDATE:
Removal of D6 yield no changes with the usb rail being pulled down to 3 volts and further testing showed that the clock module is not outputting a detectable frequency. Unfortunately as i do not SMT components laying around nor can read the details of the clock module this repair will go on the back burner. As mentioned before thoughts, troubleshooting tips, and suggestions are welcome!

As always, thank you for your time,
