Visa Gift Card on Razer online store

Anybody know if I'd be able to use one of these to pay for stuff?

Through my work, we have a rewards program (hosted by Redii/Red Balloon) where we can give co-workers points if we think they've done a great job with ... well, anything. Sometimes the folks in the office would just go around at the end of each quarter and have what they would call a points orgy (nothing to do with sex - just randomly giving out large amounts of points to each other). They used to have cool stuff to buy with points - I got a Sphero 2.0 and Sphero BB-8 with points - but now it's mostly experiences and gift cards.

For 1080 points I can get a $100 AUD Visa gift card. I'd love to be able to use these to purchase more awesome Razer gear, like the Razer Tactical Pro backpack I've had my eye on for more than a year (especially now that my current backpack is being held together with safety pins and willpower). This with the birthday money I just got from my mom — yes, even at 41 I'm still getting birthday money (my Mom is awesome) — I should be able to get the Tactical Pro, but it will be a waste for me if I can't use the Visa gift card in the online store at all.

Has anybody had any experience with using a Visa gift card in the Razer store online, or do any of the official folk know if it is possible? I looked through the FAQ, and of course Visa is accepted, but that doesn't always mean that the Visa gift cards are.

In case anybody is wondering, I did contact support - Visa Gift Cards can't be used as payment in North America. They sent my query to AP, though, so I'm still waiting for that answer.

That's strange I've bought things off the Razer online store at least 3 times with Visa gift cards. As I don't have a debit card or credit card whenever I want something, I get a visa gift card from my bank. The last things I ordered were just a couple weeks ago.

If you go to the site listed on your gift card, you can usually log in, change the customer info to your name, address, stuff like that, then when you're checking out, you just treat it like a normal card, entering in all you're info. I've bought my Leviathan, BlackWidow V2, DeathAdder Elite and a group of accessories (headphone stand, mouse bungee, keycaps) with 3 different cards at different times

Huh, that's good to know. And you're in NA, too, so I wonder if they guy on chat thought that I was meaning some kind of ... other ... Visa ... gift ... card?

    Thanks for that info, @JustJozef!

I'd be really surprised if they don't accept the Visa gift cards, so long as they still have the number, exp date and the CVV code on the back of the card. They're supposed to work exactly like a credit card anywhere that accepts credit cards. There are some gift cards that won't work, because they're only for specific stores or they aren't sponsored by / backed by a specific credit company, but most big name credit company gift cards ought to work fine.

Store Support for the AP region got back to me, and they said that you can for sure use Visa gift cards to pay. Yay!
