Simple as the title says, what is the first online game that brought you into the online gaming world?

For myself, I started out playing on the original xbox and playing a few online games on it. Then I got the xbox 360 and got real into the the CoD series, in which I began to do some competitive gaming on the xbox 360. But the true game that got me into the online gaming world is the computer game World of Warcraft, which I still play to this day. I may not play it much as I use to, but I still play it for the good memories. So reflecting back on how I got into the online gaming world, I was interested what brought my fellow Razer community members into the online gaming world.

Runescape. A cousin's friend was one of the developers, so I heard about it before it even existed, and started playing as soon as it launched.

Was so amazing to see the little 2D avatars putzing around, and realize "those are real people!!"

Addicted to MMOs ever since. Switched to WoW when it released; quit when Blizzard decided to turn it into Kung-Fu-Panda Online.

Chillin' in The Secret World now, and will probably main that until Star Citizen comes out.

For me that'd be Habbo. I'm not proud of it, bbut that was what my friends were playing back in the days. I am so glad I never paid a single cent for it because it's absolutely not something I'd enjoy for a long time. Shortly after I discovered Runescape which I played like there was no tomorrow as a free member. This is also the only game I started playing without any of my friends being involved in me picking up a game.

Then there was Silkroad. I got bored from Runescape after my friends quit and because being a F2P on Runescape was terribly limited. My younger brother suddenly started mentioning this awesome game that his best friend played so I decided to check it out first. I got pretty hooked on it and met a lot of people which eventually led me to WoW and later to LoL. I've gone back to WoW now since WoD and enjoy being mocked by those 'damn kids' calling me a fake gamer for not playing LoL/CS:GO on Gamersbook on fb.

I started with runescape because some friends of mine mentioned it, played it a while till i got CoD for my 12th birthday. My cousin played WoW so i made the switch to WoW after a while. It was the first game i really played in party's and that got me hooked. I still play it but not as much.

The games i'm playing right now are LoL and Farcry4.

Phantasy Star Online. I played other online games before hand, but tended to stay away from actual online play. PSO was one of the first I actually actively played online. I'm not really big on actively competing against other human players. I prefer co-op games where the players work against the game. I'm also a fan of being able to easily set a game down if I need to. PSO was both. Being good at the game meant being able to help other people instead of mowing them down. The short levels made it easy to get a quick game in and then go off and do other things.

For me it was the original Diablo when it was in beta the end of the year in 1996. After it released I purchased it and ended up meeting some great friends and played with them daily for months. Now, I'm married to one of those people I met back in Jan. of 1997. LOL

But prior to that it was all single player and offline for me - so that was the start of playing online. Right after that I went into The Realm, then EverQuest ... and it's been online ever since.

Ohh my...That is ancient history. Long ago while in college there were some very primative online games that I and my friends used to play often like KalistiMUD and Battletech. When I built my first computer in early 1995 a game had just come out called CyberStrike which was a mech simulator shooter. I used to spend a few hours a week playing that.
