The Banner Saga 2 is just around the corner, and we just had a few amazing releases with Fire Emblem Fates and XCOM: 2. Halo Wars 2 is also supposedly set to come out this year from the guys who make the Total War games. So which strategy game is nearest and dearest to your heart and why? Which upcoming strategy game are you most excited for?
My fav strategy game is Age of Empires, have even lost a girlfriend because of too much 4v4 on lan. A game I have been waiting for the past 3 years is Cuberpunk 2077, its not a strategy game but I fell in love with it the first time I saw its trailer.
I have had the Warhammer 40k dawn of war games on my steam wishlist for a while now. Very interested in trying them out.
Star Wars Empire at War. I played this game so much back in the day and I really enjoyed it. If you love Star Wars and fantastic RTS you need this game.
The Total War series, particularly the ones set in Antiquity or the Medieval period. I can't wait for Medieval III and I really want them to make an Antiquity Total War (set in Classical Greece, progressing to the fall of Rome with emergent empires, etc)
My friend really likes Medieval II, even though its not really a strategy game to an extent, because its mostly just experience, and changing your setup along the way. People seem to think that games like this are the only strategy games, but Shooters often have much more strategy. And you can add more techniques to your playstyle in a shooter. Why do you think that CS:GO is so popular? Personally my favorite is Rainbow Six Siege, because there are so many different approaches to the game and you can come up with so many different techniques while still having that CS:GO feel to it.
I agree in some ways with this, but remember there is a difference between tactics and strategy. CS:GO and RSS are tactical shooters
I will have to look into it I put 60 some hours into Rome: Total War in the first month or so I had it XD I recently was given Shogun 2 for christmas, excited to try it out Shooters absolutely require an immense amount of strategy, it is probably my most played genre of game, I was just simply referring to the actual genre of turn based and real time strat games. But you do have a valid point
Empire Earth. A very old game, used to play with my dad. However newer PC doesnt support it anymore when I bought the game from GoG. Company of Heroes is also nice as well
