    Hey Insiders,

Whether we’re rocking a setup ready to launch a rocket or a humble rig, we all have something in common—we need a screen to play on. With new features like the mesmerizing HDR or blazing fast refresh rate popping up every month, choosing the perfect monitor can be tough. There are now more types of panels than games available, and with the arrival of 4K and Ultra-Wide gaming, resolution is also an important factor.

So, what kind of monitor are you guys playing on? A classic 1080p 60Hz monitor? A lightning-fast 144Hz screen? Maybe a brand new 4K monitor to savor every tiny in-game detail? Or perhaps…you play on a TV. You savage.

Tell us now and let’s discuss monitors!

    I have a 3840x2160 screen on my alienware 17 laptop. A classic 1080p 120Hz monitor also alienware 23 inches, and a classic 1080p 60Hz Benq monitor 24 inches.

Viewsonic XG2401. I play Dota 2 and CS GO so 144Hz is really a needed feature.

  4. I recently made the jump to UHD too - I don't regret a thing. Games are so sharp in 4K, it's just glorious. I love going around Toussaint in The Witcher 3 and discovering new details in paintings or mural art.

Yeah, high refresh rate definitely makes sense for FPS and MOBA. I've tried it a few times on Overwatch, but quickly got motion sick - couldn't handle the frames! :D

What about your screen size? I personally enjoy playing on a TV because the ratio size/price is great compared to monitors.

I'm playing Starcraft 2, so 60 FPS monitor is fine to me. Full HD is what I need as I don't like screen too big!:wink_:

Ya, Starcraft 2 is awesome. I just put it on 120 cause it's an option.

    Dell S2417DG 24" 1440p, 165hz, TN, Gsync

I like it overall and it goes on sale to $400 every couple weeks at BestBuy so it's one of the best deals out there.
It's colors aren't amazing and it has some color banding on black scenes, but the high frames and 1440p are great. Also liking the ULMB mode even though that disables Gsync and drops the frames down to 120hz. You have to overclock it from 144hz to 165hz which takes about 10 tries which is bizarre...

It sounds like this winter the 4k 144hz monitors are finally coming out although no GPU will be able to take advantage of that yet on graphic intense games. They'll be crazy expensive for awhile, but maybe in another couple years!:big_grin_:

A savage here playing on a TV. Samsung 4k 100Hz, with the option to go 3D 1080p@23Hz or 720p@60Hz.

I've noticed that a lot of brand are starting to make curved monitors, just like it's already a popular thing in the television world. Anybody who has one of these curved monitors, and how are they for gaming?

Currently using an Acer Predator XB252Q.

    It's a 25'' 1080p TN monitor, quite expensive, but that 240hz :eek_:

I'm running a GTX 1060, so I don't reach 120+ FPS in most games. I wanted to get a GTX 1070, but since the new Nvidia Volta series GPUs are coming out in a few months, I didn't want to waste money on an expensive GPU. (My PC was built recently, like 2 months ago.)

The only complaint I have is that its color bit depth is only 8 bit (6 bit + FRC), so I do get some color banding, and the build quality is alright, but it does creak here and there.

I'm not sure if it was worth paying $650 for this, since for $750 I could have gotten an XB281HK, a 4K monitor from Acer, only 60hz, but I saw it in real life recently and mother of god the pixels are so dense. I looked at it from 3 inches away and I could barely see individual pixels.

I am using Asus VG248QE - 144Hz monitor, which I picked up for a decently cheap price from one of our countrys online stores. I used to have second screen (Samsung 24" 60Hz basic screen can't remember model), which I donated to my little brothers rig.

I actually just picked up a 144hz monitor on amazon yesterday, and it is due to be delivered tomorrow. It wont quite fit on my desk though, I already have a 60hz screen, and then there is my blade that needs to fit on there as well.

I wont reeeeeeeeeeeeealy be using the 144hz that much as i mostly play pubg and ow. Ow i can probably do around 90 frames on (still better than 60) and on pubg i hover at 40 fps (I hope this optimization is amazing, also with 40fps i got to the top 1k players in North America XD)

    (I have the 2016 970m blade)
