Yea, so use a three finger slide to go back in page, as well as forward. I actually quite like it as there are many settings. All I miss is changing irtual desktops with trackpad, that would be golden then.

Though so far I didin't get much battery life out of my 2k model, but I just started using it now. So hopefully it will become better.

Plus I might install Linux on it and Windows on an external SSD. And hopefully I'll get more battery life out of Linux.

Old thread but oh well, its still relevant...

unfortunately linux is either worse or at least similar to windows. I get a pathetic amount of battery. it seems after just 1 hour i'm around 50%, very minimal browsing keyboard lights dimmed ~30% and screen brightness below 60%. I will test actual time tonight. Running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

Did you only just get the laptop? my battery was awful the first few days but has been improving since and I now get about 5 hours after a week and a half.

at 80% screen brightness, 100% chorma wave keyboard brightness:
4.5 hours normal use with battery saver.
4.2 hours normal use without battery saver.
games at around 1.5 hours with and with out.

    at lowest settings:
around 8.5 hours normal use. But i couldn't see shit apart from my face (reflective screen :slightly_sad: )
    max settings:
around 4 hours normal use. But i still couldn't see the screen because of the reflective screen. :slightly_sad:

    hahaha, nope
the price difference are way too much in Australia.

Razer blade stealth 215gb QHD: $1849.95
    Razer Blade 2016 215GB: $2999.95

That is an $1150 difference, to show you how much that is, that is the same cost of working at Mcdonalds for 115 hours, and if you work around 4 hours a day, and 2 shifts a week, that is around half a year of work at McDonalds!

Until I'm Rich, no thanks :)

Sorry for the late reply, i've had the laptop just over a week I think now. Admittedly I've probably cycled the battery entirely 6 or 7 times since I've had it? Today I will have it sit on my desk next to me while i work and force the screen to be on. I will do nothing with it except display a blank desktop. I will do the same with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and windows 10. Both are essentially bare. Its a QHD which I've swapped in a 512gb samsung 850pro

Just on that price though, IMO your better off (with aussie pricing) replacing the HDD yourself. You can get a samsung 850 pro 512GB for ~$430AUD (inc shipping), or pay razer $300 AUD for a 256GB!

So you pay $300 for a 256GB SSD, or swap it yourself which is simple for ~$430 which gives you a super fast 512GB 850pro AND a 128gb spare pcie drive :) regarding warranty, there is no internal "void if removed" stickers etc, so just put the old drive back in when returning. just my 2 cents on that

Ok i did a test over past couple days at work. I tested the battery life with only program open being firefox with a single blank tab. I had keyboard backlight and screen on ~ 25-30% brightness, essentially barely usable.

I disabled any form of lock or screen dimming. I effectively didn't touch the laptop for the whole time, i was merely trying to see what battery life

I managed 6 hours 50 minutes in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and significantly more with windows 10 with 7 hours 50 minutes

I average around 4-4.5 hours on my QHD with backlight always below 50% and on power saver mode (the windows power mode, not battery saver which is different). I also have all the intel graphics settings on power saver and CPU limited to 75%.

I love this laptop very much and don't regret buying it, I just wish the battery lasted an extra hour.

  7. I faced this before too. The issue fixed after I update the Intel management driver. Go to Razer site and download the Intel management driver.

Sigh quite disappointed with the battery life.. Only lasted about 4 hours with light load. The worst part is using the RBS with charger plugged in, the system became very hot around the USB type-c port. Making it very unpleasant to use the keyboard. Anyone faced such issue before? I wonder if there is any external battery RBS can use without killing the system?

do you have the 4k one or QHD?

  9. With regards to the are around theUSB type-c port running hot. I will need to check again later, but normally I only notice it running warm after trying to play some games for 20-30mins++, otherwise I don't notice that area heating up much. The power button area by the hinge however does heat up noticeably.
