I'd recommend find a local store to try them out first.

Well, the Huntsman Elite is technically superior to the BW V2, and also much newer.

I'd go with the Huntsman Elite too, even if it costs a bit more than the BW. The cool thing now is that the wristrest has chroma too and that volume control button can be used in so many ways. I'd definitely give it a try.

Pros for Huntsman Elite: Chroma underglow, slightly clickier/louder switches, metal build construction, dedicated media keys

Pros for BlackWidow Chroma V2: 5 Macro Keys, USB Passthrough, Audio Passthrough

I compared my BlackWidow Chroma V1, my friend's BlackWidow Chroma V2, and my new Huntsman Elite. I think I prefer the Huntsman Elite for its clickier switches. I don't really notice any speed improvements but I do like how the keys feel. I like the included wrist rest (the V1 didn't come with one) and the underglow. The volume wheel is a great addition as well, I used to use a Corsair K70 and missed the volume wheel it had when I switched to my Razer keyboards.

I love my BW. A good keyboard will last 10 years or more so it is important to do your research and try them both out for extended periods first.

I've been a computer user since 1994 and I'm only on KB #3 (first IBM, then TG3, now Razer). And both of my old boards still work, just wanted to upgrade because first USB, and then a standard layout.

i wanted to get moreno information on what you said because i am also looking into either buying a Black Widow Chroma v2 or huntsman elite. one thing i love about the black widow chroma v2 is that the rgb is very bright and vibrant and i love the green switches , the clicky noise that the green switches offer is what i’m interested in. how does the huntsman elite compare to the bw chroma v2 with the rgb? like is the huntsman elite just as bright as the bw chroma v2 and are the switches for the huntsman elite just as loud or louder than the bw chroma v2

I've tried a lot of switches, Razer Purple are by far my favorite out of any (except maybe cherry blues?)

Huntsman Elite is an amazing keyboard. It easily became my favorite keyboard in the first week of using it. Although expensive, it's worth the purchase!
  10. I just bought Razer Huntsman Elite. I must say, the keystroke feels good, but about the keyboard layout, BW is way better because it has small "wristrest" itself by design and makes your hand feel way easier to press buttons when playing games, especially MOBA, while Huntsman-without-the-wristrest makes my palm pressed on the left Ctrl accidently all the time. However, typing feels so good with Huntsman tho.

I can understand this but I'm right there with you on the keys feeling so good. I won't trade this keyboard for anything. It's still the best I have ever used.

As many folks have seen me post here repeatedly I absolutely DESPISE clicky keys!!!!!!!!
However, I've been enjoying typing on the Huntsman Elite keyboard so much that I've been willing to overlook the sound because I like how it feels so much. Previously not a single keyboard has been able to do that in the past, so I either skipped the keyboard entirely or I purchased the stealth varieties. This one, however, I'm really hooked on how it feels and how it never bottoms out on me. That was part of the problem with the other clicky keyboards though, not only did I hear the key clicks, but they always bottomed out with my typing style and I was hearing the thudding in addition to the click and it was unbearable. I don't bottom out and thus never hear the thud on the Huntsman and so the click, while high pitched and irritating, is a bit more tolerable than hearing both sounds.

I still can't get over how much I like the feel though ... the feel is outstanding.

This x10... I used to complain just listening to my friends who used mechanical keyboards. I honestly don't have room to talk anymore!

BW has +5 macro keys buttons at right side, my reason why i cant buy huntsman....

I have both.. got with the Huntsman. Keys are louder but feel just as good. The wrist guard is much more comfortable then the BWV2 IMHO and having dedicated media controls is the only way to go.

I never used my macro keys anyway, so I much prefer the media keys. That's just personal preference, and keep in mind that I do still have the Orbweaver for when I want to change my keys around. Granted, I don't use macros on that either, I just don't use them period. lol

I hate the feel of the switches on the Hunstman Elite. They feel pretty cheap. But the laser tech making them the most responsive keyswitch combined with the RGB lighting have kept me from switching back to the Logitech G710+.

    Extremely Responsive
    Cool Font
Media Keys (Have to have them)
    RGB Lighting
    Wrist wrest is very comfortable

Media Keys (Extremely cheap feeling compared to rest of keys)
Cheap feeling keyswitches compared to Cherry MX Blues or Reds

You could include the lack of macro keys on the list of cons but if you're not playing an MMORPG then it really doesn't matter and won't affect you at all.

If Cherry comes out with a switch with similar technology I'll quickly jump ship, but for now the Huntsman Elite is my main keyboard.

Cheap feeling? First time I've heard this, everyone else has been commending the awesome feeling of them.
