I've been having trouble lately choosing which of these 2 games to buy. I've tried Destiny 2 free to play for half an hour, I'm already in love with it. As for Battlefront 2, I've never tried it, but i LOVE Star Wars. Both of these games have quite a same price, making me a hard decision to buy which one. All I want to know is which games will give you more replayability and which can be played for long?

PS : I personally don't like pay to win (Micro-transactions), seeing BattleFront 2 lootboxes system made me swayed my liking towards Destiny 2. But recently I heard BF2 suspended their lootboxes system, making me very persuaded to try out BF2. PLEASE HELP ME MAKE A DECISION INSIDERSSS!

I'm not a fan of the Star Wars so i have played only one game from them when i was younger The Jedy Academy and i liked it but from then haven't touch any other. If you're thinking about replayability i would go with the Destiny 2 because it's online and have many quests and items and so on almost as a mmo. I don't know if the Star Wars has the same things but i know that Destiny has so +1 Destiny 2 from me.

Lmao that is a good game for 2005 mate

Thanks for the opinion but is Destiny 2 pay to win? Is there any in game transactions? or just transactions for skins that won't effect the game play?

You can buy 'silver' just for skins that will not affect the gameplay. Not a single item can be bought with $ that gives advantages over non spenders.

Don't play either of them but EA only suspended there lootbox stuff, There is always the chance that it will end up coming back in one way or another. I have heard good stuff of Destiny 2, I was looking into it myself but I can't really afford it or anything right now, Don't really have any money :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:.
I would go for Destiny 2 overall.

Yap, Destiny 2. I have both now (destiny 2 was first choice), yesterday I just got Battlefront 2 because I need other games that cost similar (€60) to complete pay 2 get 3 action here;) Honestly i like Battlefront 2 on Beta test, and don’t care about micro transactions things but Destiny 2 just beautiful overall imo.

I've been hearing some bad things about Star Wars battlefront. Just in the sense of being able to upgrade/unlock features is more hassle than its worth. However, outside of that I hear it has great graphics and game play.

So for now, I'd have to vote Destiny 2!

Destiny 2 definitively, at least that game is not pay to win.

Battlefront 2 is still really good, An experienced played with 0 cards will still easily beat anyone that paid a ton of money for 3 level 3 cards.
Also to get to level 4 cards you have to still play the game.
And to unlock any guns you have to play the game.

I'm hoping they fix a few small things in it but overall it's still a great game. The Heroes vs Villians and Starfighter modes are especially good. Lots of variety of characters and small details.

It really depends what type of game you're into. Star Wars Battlefront II is a visual treat, has some decent gameplay feel and some really awesome moments. But it's not without its problems. The whole lootbox thing isn't a problem because of the money, and isn't really pay to win either (the deluxe edition that costs $20 more however gives SIGNIFICANT advantages by immediately giving you powerful guns that pee all over the default variants, and take a lot of playing to unlock) , but the problem is that the progression is intimately tied into what is essentially a chance system. The ability to get new things for your characters, vehicles and heroes is almost completely detached from how much or well you perform as them, instead relying on you to collect 'Star Cards' which, as you get more upgrades and unlocks things. It's basically really messy, confusing and convoluted. You CAN manually make cards for your units with "crafting parts" which you do actually get a fair quantity of, but all in all it's a really frustrating system.

The good news is that one of the great designers of DICE, Dennis Brännval, who was overseeing all the stuff that turned out great (classes, maps and modes, etc.) was recently promoted to be the Full Design Director of the game, which has brought in the three weakest points of the game under his control (Progression, Lootboxes, Customisation, Singleplayer). Basically this means that, much like EA Battlefront I, Dennis will be likely making a bunch of radical changes over the course of the next few months. After the 4 DLC packs and patches he oversaw in the first game, pretty much every major complaint and issue had been addressed which could feasibly be done within the scope of the game including vastly improved customisation, a new Skirmish Mode, multi-stage objective based modes, Space Battles and major overhauls of units and modes.

The main issue here is that you're sorta having to gamble on them seeing how much they can salvage, and they're starting to set this weird precedent where they release games really badly and then spend the next months slowly making it what it should have been like on release.

Battlefront II has a lot of potential. There's a lot of really good stuff in there. In particular the Starfighter Assault mode is probably the best flying combat game you can get, and a real blast (hah) to play. Galactic Assault feels amazing when you invade significant planets like Naboo, Kashyyyk, Death Star II and more. I can't stress how good this game looks and feels. Honestly if they can fix up the progression system to be way more streamlined and directly influenced by what you're playing (i.e. milestones playing as a class/unit/hero unlock more slots and give crates), make lootboxes rewards for ranking up and improve the credit rewards based on your performance instead of being a fairly flat rate based off of time the game will be in a much better spot.

So, TLDR I'd recommend keeping an eye on the news for Star Wars. If you want I can keep you updated on how they're progressing and what's coming up. For example, in a week or so we're getting free The Last Jedi content which includes two new hereos (Finn, Phasma) an assortment of new weapons and abilities, and also a bunch of improvements to the Heroes vs. Villains mode. I think the game is worth it's pricetag, especially if you can grab a physical copy below RRP which would allow you to resell/return if you don't like it. There is a lot of content for the price so long as you like playing online.

But yeah basically if you know you loved Destiny 2 maybe get that first, and keep an eye on this one and grab a copy in the future? I think it's going to get to a really good spot, and it's pretty fun to play now, but it's really held back by frustrating progression with things like useful guns, abilities and heroes (inc. Vader, Luke, Leia) which you have to work to unlock.

....Sorry for the huge post aha...I'm pretty passionate about both games and Star Wars so yeah :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Not the be that guy but honestly why support either ones BS. Bungie flat out lied to our face & EA is literally trying to screw us. I just don't get it there are tones of other good games even better games out there from dev's/publishers that actually respect there customers.

If you must get one I guess the Bungie's lying is no where near as bad as what EA tried pulling but it still shows a complete & utter lack of respect for very people that keep them in business.

Happy to help! Battlefront 2 is already dropping in price so it won't be long before you'll be able to snap it up in a great deal I'm sure! They've done a couple more patches since, particularly to boosting the credits you earn and rewarding performance a bit more. We're getting a major patch in a week for The Last Jedi so we'll see how it goes.

I don't even know why you'd revive this topic a month later to say something that's grossly untrue? There are currently zero (0) in game purchases or microtransactions, and we're about to get the second season worth of FREE content, including a new game mode, a bunch of updates and fixes to the progression system and brand new maps and heroes. I'm in no way saying the game is perfect, or that what it shipped as was even good, but idk why a bunch of people think it's cool to spread misinformation like this?

lol ya not even close. There is no pay to win and it's doubtful that there ever will be. The progression is perfect right now, lots of achieves, and you can choose which cards you want or level them up. A skilled player with zero cards would still easily beat an unskilled player with maxed cards. I have 97 hours on it and have all heroes/ships unlocked (that's easy) and almost everything available to have 3 cards. If everything was unlocked to begin with what would be the fun in that? Maybe if you're terrible and don't like accomplishment?

There is a ton of content in this game, that's for sure.

It sounds like a maybe from EA right now, you're right though at first they did just say they were only suspended them and bringing them back eventually. They got so much crap though for it I don't think they'll bring them back. http://www.pcgamer.com/star-wars-battlefront-2s-premium-currency-might-not-return/

They are also somehow redoing the whole progression system soon so it may be very different, not sure! Also new modes, so they're doing good at keeping new things coming at least. http://www.pcgamer.com/dice-hints-at-imminent-progression-changes-for-star-wars-battlefront-2/

I hate loot boxes too and have never and will never pay for them.:big_grin_: Right now it's basically play 4-5 rounds and you'll have enough points to get a loot crate, that's not too bad and I'd much rather actually play the game than pay a few dollars.

Alright, alright. Cool. I'll ease on BF2, but it's not gone entirely until I know loot boxes and pay to win features are removed for good. But I'll delete my response demanding to avoid BF2.

Oh wow, I just noticed that I was a month late anyway.
