    Why/how was the company name chosen? I'm curious where "Razer" came from. I'd also be interested in the story behind choosing to use the snake triskelion symbol as well.

    I can't wait to see the responses, because I'm sure the imaginative responses I can formulate in my mind aren't half as fascinating as the truth. :)

    thats a reasonable and cool explanation but what about the snake?

    I don't know about that, maybe the idea about razer came during a year of the snake in china or something like that.

    Btw, I'm just assuming. There is probably another (official) explanation about the name 'Razer'!

    I always wanted to know the answer to this too. Although ChaosViperSC2 seems to have a good explanation.

    The name explanation is reasonable enough - but I'd love to know if that's really the case, or if there was some other reason.

    @Min-Liang Tan - pretty please respond? :)

    I do know the story behind using a snake:
    The hand is like "dominating" the mouse. What dominates mice? Snakes.

    Here's an interview with the Chief from a while back. It has some pretty good stuff.

    Thanks for the information! I've been wanting to know where the logo came from for awhile.

  15. I just wanted to point out it sounded like (not very) it's Chinese name, 雷蛇 (pronounced Léi shé and literally "thunder snake").

    Since Min Liang is a Singaporean, i was thinking maybe it has got to do with his birth year as Singaporeans are mainly Chinese. And just as I thought, Min Liang was born in the year of the snake, thus maybe why razer products are named after snakes?

    The amount of people that get the name wrong and call it Razor is outstanding

    Simply because it sounds and looks awesome.
    Actual reason: Min Liang was shaving one morning and cut him self with his razor he thought "omg that sounds so perfect for my company" then he thought "maybe i should change the 'o' to a 'e' so it is not confused with a shaving razor. and BOOM Razer was born :)
    at least thats what i think happened
