Can't get my hands on it yet but soon xD
The New Era of Razer keyboards begins with Razer Huntsman Elite™️!!!!! 😻😻😻

WOW! That switch is so cool first time i have seen this sort in a high quality keyboard, i wonder how it would be to own one....

Its nice, but nothing you couldn't live without. Really, its a keyboard. It clicks, it looks cool.... that's about it.
Coming off a much MUCH cheaper low end at best mech keyboard its just not that different, I fully admit I paid too much $$$ cause I wanted the looks of having a full synced RGB desk setup and had to have media keys. If not for that there is no way in hades I would have paid that. So basically I'm the target sucker...I mean demographic.

EDIT: I guess I'll give it one thing... the wrist rest is the best I've ever used. I mean its really nice and comfy and looks good to boot with the lights.

Looks cool. Just before Min will be talking about idea stealing, yes, someone else already did it ;)

May I know who?

Man I'm so torn with the keyboards Razer has. Each has things I want but non has all the things I want for my next keyboard.

BW:
-Has USB passthrough
-No media keys
-Ain't sleek =/

BWX:
-Sleek design
-No USB passthrough
-No dedicated media keys

Huntsman Elite:
-I like the design just like BWX
-Has dedicated media keys
-But no USB passthrough

If only either BWX and Huntsman Elite has both USB passthrough and dedicated mediakey in 1 keyboard, it'd be a definite instant buy

What's USB passthrough?

A4tech Bloody were already making these switches, Razer just copied them.

I don't see evidence that they deliberately copied it but they're definitely not the first. Most, if not all, of Bloody's current products seem to use light actuation.
What kind of plastic are the keycaps made of?
Damn you Razer for bringing new cool things so often :wink_:
a word of warning to anyone wanting to buy either the huntsman elite or the Blackwidow Elite
They are both amazing keyboards - I own both - the switches on both are different but amazing .
the huntsman switches are clicky but light to press - the Blackwidow elite green switches are also clicky but require slightly more force to bottom out
Now the bad news - !!
Both the keyboards have faulty volume wheels - the quality of these wheels is pure junk - - it belongs in a lucky packet - not on a $150 + premium keyboard
The Wheel on my huntsman is very scratchy and requires force to turn - and the Wheel on the Blackwidow Elite isn't linear - it jumps from say 1 - 6 - 8 - 3 - 9 -12 - 3 - its all over the place - unpredictable -
Razer went and built their best keyboards ever and spoilt it all by putting on lucky packet level volume wheels that belong on a disposable toy meant to last a few hours - other than that - the keyboards and the switches on both are absolutely amazing .
I forked out $30 and got myself a https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MV411BR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
it's a proper volume wheel built properly - so i'm not even going to bother exchanging the keyboards as they will still have the Shitty sub par media volume wheels -
I so wish Razer would stop cutting corners - and build a proper - ALL METAL housing - ( top and body ) and put on a top quality volume wheel and charge it accordingly for people that have the money and want top quality -
ALL METAL housing , Double shot ABS or PBT keycaps - TOP quality volume wheel -
MECHANICAL MEDIA SWITCHES - it so funny when all mechanical keyboard manufacturers state all mechanical switches on the box but put rubber dome media switches to save $1 and a $2 volume wheel
Having said all of the above - I still feel that when all things are taken into account - the Huntsman and Blackwidow Elite are by far my favorite mechanical keyboards ever -
NB - I have 3 corsair K70' - Rapidfire , cherry red , Cherry Bue etc - so I've compared -
the only thing Corsair has better than Razer is the Smooth high quality Volume wheel -
If Razer had Corsairs volume Wheel it would be in the Stratosphere -
I'm hoping for better media and volume controls from Razer in the future - PLUS ALL METAL housing - but in my honest opinion - I would much prefer a keyboard with only a volume wheel and no media controls - Media controls kinda make the keyboard feel like a DJ Deck ??
All we need is a high quality Volume knob - i 5 years and many keyboards later I don't think I've used the media buttons EVER - not once ! - only the volume wheel

*screams* GIMME ONE!!! 😵
mmm, new switches? I'll have to try them, there's a resemblance to RomerG ... we'll see how these

It would've been an instant buy for me except for these missed/overlooked at features especially for a $200 keyboard:

  • No 5-key macros
  • Multimedia keys not backlit
  • Multimedia keys and volume knob/dial feel cheap/flimsy when pressed/turned
  • No USB pass-through ports

Nothing with this keyboard sets it apart from others with the small exception of their opto-mech switches. What I'm excited is future add-ons/accessories for the POGO pin connectors. Hopefully a V2 will include said missing features.

1. No one barely uses the 5 marco keys (They should just add an option for them at this point)
2. Who really cares about the MM keys not being backlit.
3. No they probably don't you are just being picky.
4. USB pass-through would be nice but not essential on a keyboard like this
5. There won't be a V2 for a very long time

You talk like you have numbers to back up your claims.

1) People use and take advantage of the extra macro keys
2) Again, some people care about the small things like consistency
3) They actually do feel cheap when pressed/turned

I have had the chance to test the keyboard so I know what I am talking about.

1. Why are you talking for everyone? NOT everyone uses marcos accept that
2. Yeah people who are picky and want every little detail to be perfect
3. The keyboard is metal, maybe in the next batch it will be better
"Light and clicky" you're too funny!
when is the tournament version going to be release?
Optical switches... that sounds interesting.
I never quite liked the exposed switch design.
It's missing the 5 macro keys... so we all can expect the Huntsman Ultimate Champion Edition. :wink_:

I just replaced my DeathStalker Ultimate with a BlackWidow Chroma v2, and I'm loving it... so I don't plan on changing keyboards anytime soon.
I also prefer having Synapse 2 as an option to run on my Windows 10 LTSB setup for audio production. Synapse 2 has a smaller footprint compared to the bloated Synapse 3. Sadly, all new Razer products are Synapse 3 only... so I will stick with my BlackWidow v2 and my Naga Chroma for as long as I can. :smile_:

The logo is on the wrist rest, and I just can't see how they could illuminate that and still keep it functional and comfortable. There is not a logo at the bottom of they keyboard.

Yes, I know. But I meant "RGB-illuminated-Logo". Now it really look less-symbolic, at least on my view, and look more like 40 bucks no-name mechanical keyboard.

*I just realized RAZER Goliathus Chroma also has no RGB-illuminated-Logo:eek_:

Well, that is really something else, and impressive.
And I just had to spend thousand on home renovations and this beauty comes out?! Why me?!
Userlevel 5
I have a dream...
💚💚💚
looks nice but you guys should really concentrate on fixing your various softwares first. both synapse and cortex are resource heavy, buggy, and have compatibility issues. cortex in particular is almost malware-like in its behaviors, spawning multiple processes that re-open when you try to close them

They're taking it to the next level!
I don't particularly like mechanical keyboards but this one is pretty cool!

Anyone tried the huntsman elite yet? wondering how the actuation response is like compared to the conventional razer keys. What kind of resistance are those keys most closely comparable to? Thnx! =D

They are clickier than Razer Greens (even the new version of Greens, tried against a BlackWidow Chroma V1 and V2). They feel somewhere between MX Blues and what I remember of the old IBM Model M type keyboards (though I haven't used one of those in 20 some years, was in elementary school last time I used one). They're very loud which I like. They have a bit more resistance than MX Blues as well in my opinion (haven't done any scientific tests so maybe I'm wrong). I really like typing on this thing.

As for the opto-mechanical switches providing some sort of gaming advantage, I'm going to call BS on that. Maybe they do actuate a millimeter higher than conventional mechanical keys but do I feel this impacts my gaming? Absolutely not. I haven't noticed a difference in response switching from a BlackWidow Chroma to the Huntsman Elite.
this would be perfect if they made a silent version
