Basilisk X Hyperspeed is not entering Bluetooth pairing mode | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

Hello. Encountered a problem. After battery replacement in my Basilisk X Hyperspeed bluetooth connection stopped working.

When I re-moved switch to OFF and to BT mode again - nothing happened. Not even usual blue blink on mode switching button. LED is not blinking and stays black in BT mode. Tried to enter pairing mode with 4+5+mode combination - nothing. Changed 5 batteries - no changes. When you enter dongle mode - everything is alright and working perfectly. But when you switch to BT mode - it’s not entering pairing mode and LED is not blinking blue, as it was before. Problem with any device I tried to pair to. Paired mouse was deleted before any attempt to pair again.

Tried to hold left+mwheel+right button combination - blue led started blinking rapidly and mouse can be found with “dfubasilisk” name in available devices to connect. But this is not default mode and after I connect - “dfubasikisk” device is just added to paired list, but nothing happens next and mouse is not available to normal use.

Kinda desperate to fix problem. Firmware is last version. Battery is 108% not the issue, because the same batteries is working perfectly on different Basilisk X mouse in BT mode. If anyone can help to fix the issue - will be grateful a lot.

OMG!!! I finally did it.

I had to do the following to get this to connect.

I would follow what the other posts advised to make sure it is not connected to another device. I had it once connected to a mac and even after pressing “forget” it would still connect. To completely negate the mac I pressed “forget” the device than shut down the mac.

On the PC you are trying to connect to, I would start the Bluetooth search for the mouse. On the mouse itself I would toggle the switch to off → press the DPI button and both side buttons → while holding down the these buttons toggle the switch to bluetooth (BT). Keep holding down these 3 buttons and I got the PC to find the Hyper X. The tricky part is that you have to keep holding down these buttons on the mouse while you select the icon on the PC. I had another mouse hooked up to help with this. Hopefully for you it will say that device is ready.

Good luck!!!

I’m sorry for the pings, but I believe I have found a solution. Yesterday, I lost my dongle, and I found that the mouse was not connecting through Bluetooth on my laptop. There was only a solid blue light for about a second after I turned it on, and then nothing. When I tried connecting it to a MacBook I had laying around, I remembered something. For whatever reason, you can only pair the HyperSpeed to a single device using Bluetooth. That means, even if the first device you paired the mouse to through Bluetooth is turned off or hasn't been used in a long time and as long as it still has the mouse paired on Bluetooth, your mouse won’t work on any other device. I found that it was still paired on the MacBook, I simply pressed the remove button, and the mouse started blinking a slow and steady blue light, and connected to my laptop.

I suggest to find all other devices you may have paired the mouse to, and remove it from all of them and then try.

Also, incase this had something to do with the connection, I turned the mouse to dongle mode, pressed and held right click + left click + middle wheel, and then switched it over to Bluetooth mode while holding it and it started blinking the blue light really quick. I doubt it had anything to do with the solution but experiment with it if the solution doesn’t work.

I’m not having that problem since my Basilisk Hyperspeed X is already connected to my laptop but I’m having a mouse problem. The recent razer update broke the click and drag function on the mouse so it doesn’t scroll via click and drag properly or drag files.

Hi guys,

Can you PM me your device’s serial number so I can validate its model and check for other steps to help you resolve the problem? For software issues, please PM me the Synapse version so I can check my resources for options. Thank you!

As far as we concluded, it’s hardware problem. So, aside replacement, there’s no solution so far, I guess.

Im experiencing the same issue here…

mouse doesnt even go in BT mode anymore, when switching the button underneath the BT mode doesnt even kick in… cant pair it… doesnt enter pairing mode when holding the 2 side buttons + dpi… nothing happens, very frustrating….

@Voltfrontspaceship895, it is just as polydepotPuceRed530 wrote, you need to disconnect it from the previous connected device. If you don’t have access to the previous device, the bluetooth mode is dead.

edit: this is a very bad design! @Razer.Zionzedd we need a way to restart bluetooth!

To ANYONE who runs into this issue - All you need to do is go into bluetooth pairing mode - this is confusing because this mouse has TWO bluetooth pairing modes. One is activated when u switch into bluetooth mode with the switch on the bottom, the 2nd, and much more robust pairing mode, is activated when you hold down the two side buttons, and the DPI button! this will make the mouse blue light blink rapidly and it will successfully connect to any device.

Yes, buying Razer is a regret. I'm having the same problem. And also Razer's support system doesn't work well either.

Hi, I’ve found a solution for my laptop running Windows 11 (23H2). My Intel network card (AX210) has given m some headache with the bluetooth pairing of the my Razer mouse (Razer Basilisk V3 X HyperSpeed). I have already installed, updated, configured the Synapse software because I already had a Razer Naga Trinity, so I was very familiar with the software.

So after I’ve installed all the most recent driver from the official website of Intel, I also removed any power saving features from both wifi and Bluetooth, because I read in can cause problems on some machines (maybe I will enable it again in the future specially for a laptop).

After that I rebooted my machine.

I also detached the battery power with a needle to achieve the same results, like in this article (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000090393/wireless/intel-wireless-ac-products.html) because I wasn’t sure what the were the problem was, so I tried anything possible.

After all that I found in windows setting, in the section “Bluetooth & Devices > Devices” the subsection “Bluetooth devices discovery” for me it was set to “Advanced” and I set it to “Default”.

To be sure that it remains active in the pairing mode, I followed the instruction from the manual, briefly… the right buttons combination.

After that I was able to connected successfully.

-

P.S. My network card (MediaTek Wifi 6 MT7921) on my desktop with Windows 10 (22H2) it gives me zero errors from the first time, so it depends maybe on the drivers, manufacture, etc… I really genuinely don’t know.

I also typed very recently this 2 commands on CMD, for my other reason. But those should clear systems error.

1) dism /cleanup-image /online /restorehealth

2) sfc /scannow

some photos to understand it better

to fix this make sure the mouse is not paired with any devices. Then put the mouse switch onto bt  (Bluetooth) mode then start the search for bt devices on your pc , after that press the dpi and both side buttons in the order dpi, button 5, button 4 keep all 3 buttons pressed DO NOT let go of them when the blue light starts to slowly fade lower and brighter look through the list of devices on your pc find  basilisk x try to pair with it all while still holding down the 3 buttons and the blue light is still fading then your pc should pair the mouse again and say ready to go.

Hi guys,

Out of the blue my 1st gen (RC30-031501) mouse stopped working on BT. Same behavior as all mentioned: no blue LED flashing, no activity when pressing the pairing mode combination of buttons.

Anyone managed to find a solution? 2.4Ghz is not an option for me as I’m using it with a MacBook which only has USB-C ports.

Thanks

I got the same problem now. BT is not working anymore. I am only using BT on my SteamDeck so there is not additional Software in use.

Synapse and Dongle are used on my Notebook. That is still working. Its only BT not working.

Its a Razer Basilisk X Hyperseed

RC30-031501 Gaming Mouse

This is a bit frustrating. I can go into the mode where I hold the left and right click combined with the mouse wheel. It goes in a rapid blue LED blinking and on a PC i can see “dfubasilisk” but nothing is working. SteamDeck cant connect to the mouse and its shown offline all the time. I removed it but I am not able to reconnect it in any way…

Do I have to send it back? it’s quite new.

For me didnt work .
Using Mac M series.

I have tried several ways (all listed here) without success.

I think Razr should speak out regarding this issue with the Mouse. We have several people with the same problem and we do not have a definitive solution. Many people are trying different ways (some succeed and others do not).

Razr Team, do we have an official position?
@Razer.Zionzedd could you help us?

Same exact issue on my Mac this morning, unsure of what to do.

https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5387

this website may help, but basically u should try pressing the two side buttons + dpi button. Also make sure no device is paired already with the mouse

I’m now having the precise issue the OP has.  I’ve used this mouse for years across several MacBooks with no issues whatsoever, although I probably did a nice clean device unpair/removal/reformat on the older Macs before adding to the new Mac.

My son came over the holiday and we played some games and I let him borrow the mouse.  He paired it on his Mac, and now I can’t use it, enter pairing mode or anything on my Mac.  The instructions to “press the pairing button on the bottom” are absolute dross, there is no button on the bottom.

I can get it to do the fancy blue ficker with what I can only assume is some diagnostic mode with the L/R/Scroll button combo, but that doesn’t help to pair it.

The DPI/4th/5th button combo does nothing.  No blinky.  No pairy.

Thankfully my son hasn’t left yet, so tonight I’ll try to see if he can remove the device from his bluetooth settings.  Elsewise looks like I might be tossing this into the recycle bin and shopping for a reliable mouse.

both my 2.4g and BT connection spoiled… any mode i switch on will make the cursor snap to the bottom of the screen and to make use of mouse on my pc have to switch of razer basilisk the use old wired mouse. if razer still turn on in anymode will make my cursor just at the bottom of the screen and cannot be move… i want my money back… already 13 days and all the troubleshoot with razer team via email also not helping…

Problem solved in order to add DFUBasilisk bluetooth during the firmware update process you have to switch Bluetooth pairing mode from Default to Advanced in Windows 11 settings.

Hi, i have a similar issue.  I can connect via bluetooth just fine - but i can’t update the firmware.  Stuck on this screen.  I’ve tried 2 different PCs.

Is there any info on that? Or a chance to get support?

Or do we have to open a return case? I am in contact with the retail. I will return it if there is no solution. Blutooth is dead for over a week now. I cant use the mouse with Blutooth anymore.

I was having the same issue, it wasn’t going into pair mode. I didn’t try it for about 4 months, now it goes into pair mode.

It’s likely that several months ago this mouse was connected to my other laptop, and that’s why it wouldn’t go into pairing. Well, I reformatted that laptop so now that it’s going into pairing it just can’t be found.

I have made sure all bluetooth settings on my laptop, tablets, and phone that I’ve tried to find the mouse with are all set to discoverable and the mouse just can’t be found.

The fact that you can’t clear device connections from the mouse with a combination of buttons being pressed is absolutely absurd, the fact that once you somehow manage to get it into pair mode (barring you didn’t sell the laptop it was connected to, otherwise you’d be shit out of luck) it just simply can’t be discovered demonstrates that this mouse has significant hardware/design issues.

I’ll be sure to steer people away from Razr mouses. If they can’t design a mouse appropriately then why would I trust a Laptop or any other product?

I have the same issue, did anyone find a good solution? or is this mouse not a mouse to recommend to someone else?

I am having the same issue. I’m using MacOS. After I “Forget My Device” and try connecting again the mouse can connect via Blutooth again,
