Is my battery bloated and is there a leak inside? | Razer Insider

Hi,

I’m currently in the process of writing up my thesis and I have no option but to use the laptop as the deadline is in just over a month. I have used the laptop as a stationary since i bought it Jan 2021, but recently I took it to work and I noticed that the mousepad didn’t work. I read on the forums that this was a sign of a bloated battery and when opening the laptop (which was an ordeal in itself due to the stress on the screws from the bulging battery) I found not only a part of the battery to stick out, but also some liquid leakage on the south bridge chip?

Two questions:

1) how do i confirm that my battery is bloated?

2) what is the leakage? I believe the part that should be attached to the south bridge chip is instead attached to the cover, but I’m not sure whether this is intended or not.

cheers,

Dan
