I recently began wearing a bracelet that has a small magnet in it, and around the same time as I started wearing it, my blade 15 has started going to sleep occasionally as I am using it. This is generally a mild inconvenience as it only takes a few seconds to wake back up once the fans stop. My concern is that I believe what's causing my laptop to go into sleep mode is a magnet sensor in the base of the laptop (near the power light) that makes the laptop think the lid is shut. Though more recently I've seen the screen flash red before going to sleep, and since my hypothesized explanation has no real foundation, it could be anything. Also the hard drive is located directly behind the power light, where my hand rests when typing, with the magnet on my wrist. Or it could be something else entirely. Anyway, I was wondering if there is a chance for serious issues to arise from continuing to wear my magnet bracelet near my laptop.
It's not a particularly strong magnet, but it can lift a 10 gram pen off my desk.

Normal magnets can't affect the laptop's performance or cause it to shut down unless it's really powerful. Nevertheless, have you tried tweaking the power settings to choose what closing the lid does? If you're still experiencing the same issue, it could be something serious. PM me the serial number so I can validate its model and check for other workarounds to help you resolve the problem. Thanks!
