So I needed a backlit keyboard of ANY kind. Not even looking for fancy features.
Choice fell on Razer Cynosa Chroma because price, and I could not find any simple keyboards with normal backlit keys.
Upon the software/drivers, no less than 9!! background processes is started on my computer. I was hoping I could set a basic single color static backlight and close down the software and related background processes, but NO, then the keyboard defaults back to the ever color changing, breathing, obnoxious pattern!
Please tell me there's a way to accomplish what I want. Can't the keyboard internally remember my set profile and I can shut down the software? I'm running a slick clean system here, and thats how I like it.
If this is not possible I'm going to have to return it.

Oh my god, wow. Ok. As the default horrendous "teen-gamer" pattern works without the software, it was my hopes that one could change the default one, and not need the software running. So I'm going to have to return it then. :slightly_sad:
They Have the Default as spectrum cycling, Mainly due to the reason, If they chose static, Which color would they choose? It is better to go with something like Spectrum cycling on something like this.

Unfortunately there's no way for you to accomplish that. You might have to return it back for other people that able to stand the software/drivers installed by the hardware.

Hey jinx! You can set a chroma configuration onto an onboard profile if the keyboard has one. I am looking at the cynosa Chroma Right now, and it appears that it does not contain any onboard profiles. I could be wrong. But this means that you would need to have synapse running in the background for the static function. Other than that it should automatically go to the spectrum cycling feature by default. This keyboard may not be for you. There others that have onboard profiles however. Such as the Huntsman lineup. But that one may be out of your price range. There is also the Blackwidow. the original. This one is basically the cynosa chroma but it has Razer Green switches and Onboard profiles so that You don't have to have synapse running in the background. The price may be a bit of a problem though. It is 120$ instead of the 60 dollar price point you were at. So basically double. But Let me give you the link and you can decide for yourself. Of course there are other Black Widows you may be interested in as well.
