Does anyone know why Razer Cortex is using so much of my CPU while doing nothing? It uses 20-30% of my CPU even though I'm not playing games, using the FPS counter, or doing anything with Cortex at all.

Just found a work around. I have to redo my lighting profiles to do this but if i start from a new surface with no lights set, it works fine.

You're welcome, Michelle. Cheers!
I've been having the same issue with cortex. It really sucks because I use it a lot to make my games more enjoyable! I've attached a screenshot. It can spike up to like 25% and it eats up so much of my CPU. I never had any issues with this in older versions of cortex. Hopefully this gets fixed soon!
(running a game in the background, but cortex takes up a lot of cpu even when games arent running)

I've been having a related issue; wether I open synapse or cortex, Razer just opens up all of its applications... So if I only want to use Synapse with my new Razer mouse, I'm forced to have all of Razer's other things running in the background.
I think all those Razer apps running in the background have to be some installation error on my part?
Here's some pictures of the Razer apps my Task Manager has running in the background:

similar issue. sometimes when running synapse, it gets to be really slow. the rest of my PC is running as it should. CPU usage for synapse 3 is around the 25% to 50% mark on my i5 9600K @ 4.8GHz. Any time i try to relocate any lighting device, once placed, i can no longer do anything with synapse. still shows lighting animations and such but nothing works when clicked upon. Not sure if this has to do with the high CPU usage or not, but it is very frustrating not being able to do anything with my lighting unless i end the process each time i start to move one device.

Since having cortex, this has happened to me as well as 100% memory usage.. had to reboot pc. Since an update, I randomly have a cpu whoring session, but when I close game it leaves me according to steam.. still in the game. No process running.
Hey there!
Thank you for bringing this issue to us. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused you.
To make sure that I understand you correctly, you mean you have a memory usage issue when using Razer Cortex. After you update it, did the memory usage issue persist?
If yes, please feel free to provide us with the following details:
1. a screenshot in your Task Manager.
2. your Razer Cortex logs via PM.
3. your system version.
- Tap win+r on your keyboard.
- Input "winver" in the box. A window will pop up.
- Take a screenshot of the windows system.
When you say "but when I close game it leaves me according to steam.. still in the game. No process running." Did you mean when you close a game, the game still running unless you exit steam?
"No process running" means no gaming process running?
Appreciate your patience.
Michelle
