Razer Mouse Dock Pro Synapse Lighting Bug | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
I have the basilisk v3 pro and the mouse dock pro. I have Synapse 3 downloaded and everything is paired. The only issue I'm having is the mouse dock pro lightning will not turn off when the computer shuts down even though the option is selected. The mouse rgb will turn off, but the dock switches to rainbow rgb and never turns off. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling synapse, but the issue is still present. I just wanted to make a post so hopefully Razer is aware of the issue.

Yea maybe not. I had the basilisk ultimate and that option in synapse worked perfectly with that dock. It would shut off the rgb while the PC was off but would still supply power for charging. I just wished the turn lighting off when display is off option worked for this version.

I had entirely the same issue. No problem with my prvs basilisk ultimate charging dock with the option "switch off lighting when display is turn off" ticked. However having the same option ticked does not turn off the lighting on this New Mouse Dock Pro. Unistalling and installing synapse doesnt help either. Hopefully Razer will address the issue ASAP.
That is definitely an option but defeats the purpose of the dock a little bit. If I cut the power to USB when my PC is off the mouse won't charge.

This is still an issue and sucks at night when you like a dark room to sleep in. Having to cover it with something so the non functioning checkbox "works" is BS for the price you pay for both the mouse and the dock.

Razer Devs easy fix, get on it!! P1 priority!!!

Yep, same issue here, hopefully this thread will help a firmware fix come around, currently having to set my brightness to 0 and disabling it as well, having ‘when display is turned off’ enabled doesn’t do a thing, doesn’t even switch to one of my other profiles, instead just switches to the default breathing pattern. The Basilisk v3 pro on the other hand the RPGs turn off without any problems when putting my computer to sleep. This is most certainly a firmware issue and I’ve tried all the resets and restarts that I’ve found listed in this thread.

Okay so it's 10 months now and no fix?? I can't believe they release a product this expensive and then don't give a f*ck about their customers. I have many razer Devices but this makes me very mad! RAZER WE NEED A FIX, NOW

It’s called bean counting, and combined with Agile practices it results in these non-show-stopper bugs never getting fixed, and they never will. People still buy the mouse and dock. The bug is already at the bottom of the heap, because it does not affect users actually using the mouse, so they can ignore it. A very, very small percentage of people will bother returning the mouse and/or dock.

All modern tech companies operate on this principle.  Sucks for us, works just fine for them.

I do have the same issue and I’ve been checking this post for months just to know if there was a solution (or even a workaround), but it’s so dissapointing the actual situation. Unplugging or disabling USB power when laptop is off is not a solution by any means as it removes the utility of a power charging dock that usually charges the device when not in use.

Razer, this is really really disappointing and I think that acknowleging this is not an expected behavior would be a very nice first step. Please submit a firmware update for it (as you recently did for laptop chroma stand v2).

I do love my Basilisk V3 Pro + Mouse Dock Pro combo, but having all night the dock lighting the room is not what I expect of Razer reliability reputation.

Check your motherboard/laptop settings - maybe there's an option selected to give power to the USB even after computer shutdown. Or try different USB port without "powershare" function.

I resorted to turning the rgb off on the dock for now. If you shut down it'll keep the rgb off, so far anyway. However, if you put the PC to sleep it'll revert to the default lighting for whatever reason even if you have the rgb off in synapse.

Same issue here, it just wont turn off unlike the old dock. Only way was to turn off the RGB in synapse...

Guess we just have to wait for more ppl to complain to this thread and hopefulli Razer do smething abt it.
Hi polyOldSilver348, Lee_p77, and InsoMia! Allow me to help you report the Mouse Dock Pro's Chroma behavior to the team on your behalf. Please send me the serial number of your devices via PM.

@Razer.Speedcr0ss ? :)

Thanks for the mention, FiszPL!

Perhaps we have a fundamental misunderstanding here.  We do not want the Mouse Dock Pro to shut off when the computer is off.  If that happened, we would not be able to charge the mouse.

We want this check box to work, as it does with other Razer devices.

If the only way to switch off the lighting when the display is turned off is to disable USB charging power, there is no need for that check box, as it has no function.  It makes as much sense as “Switch off lighting when the power is cut off.”

The first step in fixing a problem is to acknowledge that there is one.

The same problem with Mouse Dock Pro. I want the dock lighting off when my PC is off or at least to save synapse setting to the dock to be able to have Dock lightning OFF + PC off + USB with power to charge my mouse within the night.

Well, I’m still working with Razer support. After speaking with 3 different people, it’s now been escalated to Level 2 support. I’ve asked numerous times - “give me the previous release, and I can verify if it’s a bug in the new release”, but nope, just have to keep going through the motion for now.

So there's probably no other choice. If you plug your dock directly into USB charger - it'll also should turn the lighting on.

This bug is affecting me as well. Super annoying. I also have another issue where the RGB for the mouse and the dock both get stuck to the breathing red/orange/green pattern after undocking the mouse. I have to power the mouse off, wait a few seconds for the dock to reset to its assigned RGB profile, and then turn the mouse back on.

Please uninstall the Razer Synapse 3.0. Then download the Razer Driver Clean-up tool: https://rzr.to/Tf53xj, and install the app. Restart the computer and reinstall the software and see if it helps.

Hi there, I already have a ticket in with Razer support regarding this issue. It is looking to be a Synapse bug. They are working with the engineering team to duplicate the problem and implement a fix.

I have the exact same issue. RGB works fine, but as soon as I take the mouse off the charging dock, both go to breathing mode. Turning the mouse off and on again helps. Could you please let me know if you get any news from the support team?

Thanks a lot!

I recommend submitting a case by clicking this link so our Support Team can see how many users are affected. Otherwise, send me a PM so I can help you start a support ticket.
@Razer.Speedcr0ss and everybody else:

I talked to the support team about my Basilisk V3Pro and the new mouse dock. I have the same issues as you guys have:

1. The dock doesn't turn off when I shutdown my computer. The dock is on an externally powered USB hub. If I connect it directly to the PC it turns off... but the mouse obviously doesn't load anymore, which is not acceptable IMHO.

2. The mouse keeps pulsating when I take it off the dock and doesn't go back to its defined lighting mode.

Now, both cases are done now and support wants to exchange both devices. I don't know... to me this still looks like a software problem. Otherwise both devices would be defect? And the devices of everybody else here? I'm kind of hesitating to exhance them both since they work flawlessly otherwise. Does anybody of you guys have similar information / responses?
for me too.

My old Mamba Chroma Wireless Docking Station turned RGB off when PC is shut down. The new Mouse Dock Pro won't turn off RGB.
I talked to RAZER Support.

For the moment they don't have this feature implemented and they can't say if it ever will be.

For now there solution is:

Bios/Mainboard Settings -> turn off USB power or unplug the USB cable.

Which is totally nonsense for me because charging the mouse when the PC is turned off is the reason (I guess) everyone buys a wireless mouse charging adapter
Hmmm if i turn off usb charging support .it’s for all my usb ports .

And I couldn't use them to charge anything else

Disconnecting the cable is not a solution.

@Razer.Speedcr0ss

I tested different things,

the leds turn off well when windows puts the screen to sleep

If I turn off the led of the dock, and I turn off the pc, the led stay off.

If I shut down the PC with the leds on, it does not detect that the screen is turned off and the leds return to the basic mode (alternating colors)

while waiting to find another solution, since I have a basilisk v3 pro mouse, I will assign a button to modify the profile of the dock pro, on which I would have turned off the led when i want shut down my pc.
1PUNCHM4N
Could you explain how to set the profile to turn off the lights?

To turn it off completely?

1. Go to synapse -> ACCESSORY -> LIGHTING

2. Near the PROFILE click three dots

3. Add and set the profile's name

4. In this new profile set BRIGHTNESS to 0

4. Disable BRIGHTNESS

That's it. You won't have RGB but it will keep disabled after the PC power off.

At least it was for the last few tries I turned PC off.

Hi, @Razer.Speedcr0ss

Does the dev team work on the real fix already?
