Is it possible to get more then 60Hz when using optimus on this one?

Have to trick the display by adding custom resolution with CRU to get more then 60Hz (144 ist possible with optimus)

Isnt there a way to get more then 60Hz without using CRU?

New Alienware Laptops are able to use much more PowerTarget for their new Laptops so maybe @razer consider updating your 17“ with a new Bios with increased PowerTarget for the GPUs aswell.

It needs higher ac adapter then, current one is only 230 watt similar with blade 15. Yeah Alienware I think they also use liquid metal as well, not against it though but it’s still more risky than normal thermal compound, tldr they push you to buy their expensive longer guarantee plan imo, and I think it’s more expensive than Razer care. Not mentioned their previous models since moved to this thin and light categories are disappointing from thermal to user upgradeable parts. Don’t get me wrong they are great in term performance and I like it, but i prefer cooler unit on a laptop than performance.

The pro line refresh usually comes later hopefully it’ll be soon and also blade stealth, there’s already 3050ti for that actually.

I don’t have the pro 2021 but dynamic boost isn’t something to set but you can check if it’s applied or not on system information like this, that’s my book 13 paired with Rtx 3070 on Razer core setting, the cpu is ultra low wattage that doesn’t support it apparently.


Is the stand also off? I’m assuming yes since your laptop off and it’s powering the stand so no power delivery. Not sure mine, dock isn’t lighted but on sleep mode the viper logo on, and battery alway 100%, however in my case my core v2 always plugged on separate ac adapter to power the corev2.

Thanks! I found it in System Info and is in fact ON.
Issue was that in 2080 or 20 series models it is actually a feature that can be turned on or off under 3D Settings while in 30 serires is just ON or OFF by default depending on OEM.

I turned the Blade off and checked every USB-A port individually with my iphone and the iphones charging cable. only one of the two ports on the left side of the Blade is charging the phone while the blade is turned off.

Adding the Chroma Stand in between is disableling the charging.

So what i did is connecting the Viper Ultimate Charing Station direktly to that one USB port on the side an now i can set the mouse on the station after using it and its charging the mouse even if the Blade is turned of.

Hi, I just received my RBP 17 4K 3080 and I don't see Dynamic Boost in the NVIDIA Setting Pannel.
Could it be because I updated drivers?
Would you mind confirming that you do have Dynamic Boost 2.0 in yours?

Got a 2021 QHD/3070, powered off /w powercord pluged in, standing on a Razer Chroma stand (old one, 3x USB3) and got the Viper Ultima with the charging station plugged into the stand. Mouse is not charging while the laptop ist turned off. Already set USB charging in BIOS to AUTO. Not sure why the Viper isnt charging while the laptop is turned off. Any suggestions?

I see 100 Watts which is what I expected but I also see Dynamic Boost 2.0 yes.

Unfortunately no, only blade 15 with qhd 240hz model has it on current model. Only blade pro 17 2016/2017 4K has g sync but it’s not available anymore.

Got G-Sync working with external monitor, if anyone is interessted in this kind of topic. HDMI wont work, but USB-C to Displayport is!

Yes usb C acts as display port where g sync can be outputted, but for hdmi blade pro has hdmi 2.1 so it can output g sync if your external monitor has hdmi 2.1 support.

I pre ordered my 2021 razer blade 17 3080 with 360hz monitor a couple weeks ago and I am DAMN excited. Can’t wait. I know the monitor is 360hz refresh rate, but what is the response rate ms? What is the significance of the difference between desktop and laptop 3080s?

I beg you @razer to allow undervolting for the Pro 17 (2021) again. This already incredible mashine could be even quieter by allowing us to undervolt it (again).

At the moment I can only restrict the i7s power (pl1/pl2) with throttlestop to reduce noise, which helps, but with undervolting we can reduce noise AND gain performance at the same time. Not be able to do it is a real shame, since there is performance and noise improvements which we are not able to use.

Also, since this mashine has already really good cooling, adding may be 10-20w on the GPU Power Target would be awesome.

Both this tweaks (undervolting and a little more gpu Power Target) would make this mashine so much more awesome! Come on Razer, give us a bios update. Pls :)


Other OEMs allow a certain level of undervolt. All I read is the 10th Gens are not very good with undervolt (-.80 mV at best). I do agree a 10-15 watts of additional power to the GPU would be great, though I think the limit is more with the VRMs on the board.

Still can't wrap my head around that RTX card in that thinly designed laptop!

The laptop 3080 is a significantly different from the desktop one. Shouldn't really even be called by the same nomenclature.
