Can't use PS5 controller with Synapse | Huntsman V3 Pro

Yesterday, I bought a Razer Huntsman V3 Pro, and everything was going great until I tried to use a controller. I quickly realized that no matter what I did, no game detected my inputs. Once I closed Synapse and restarted, the issue went away. The only issue with this is that I then lose all my RGB customization on my keyboard. Is there any way I can get controllers to work with Synapse? Is there something super obvious I'm just missing? I find it really weird that a $250 keyboard just voids out all controller support. I looked this up online and found absolutely nothing, which brings me here.

Hey there,

It sounds like you're facing a frustrating issue with your Razer Huntsman V3 Pro and controller compatibility. Here are a few steps you can try:

  1. Check Synapse Settings: Ensure that there are no conflicting settings in Razer Synapse that might be causing the issue with the controller. Look for any options related to input devices or game integration.

  2. Update Synapse: Make sure you have the latest version of Razer Synapse installed. Sometimes, updates can fix compatibility issues with other devices.

  3. Contact Razer Support: If the problem persists, reach out to Razer's customer support. They might have specific troubleshooting steps or insights into this issue.

  4. Community Forums: Consider posting your question on Razer's community forums. Other users might have experienced similar issues and could offer helpful advice or solutions.

  5. Temporary Workaround: As a temporary solution, you could try closing Synapse only when using the controller, then reopening it afterward to restore your RGB customization.

Hope these suggestions help you resolve the issue and enjoy your gaming experience to the fullest!

First, which way is the PS5 controller connecting to your pc, wired or bluetooth? Also which way are the peripherals connected?

Personally, I use a few different controllers depending on the game I’m playing such as DualSense 5, XBox One & Series X as well as a Pro-Type controller I built myself. I can honestly say NONE of them have given me problems when using them (Win11Pro with a Huntsman 2, Cynosa Lite, Basilisk X Hyper, Basilisk Gaming Mouse, and a Mamba Wireless are the various peripherals I frequently use). The only time I see issues is when Steam is open while using a GamePad, it causes the pointer to jump everywhere.

I was asking how they are connected because unless you are using a wired connection for DS5 controllers, you will need to get additional software such as DS4Windows, DualSenseX Free (or it’s paid alternative DSX on Steam) for lots of additional features including bluetooth support as well as button mapping & customization. You can also use Steam and a few other similar applications for additional Controller options.

If the problems persist, reply & I’ll help as best I can.
