Razer driver issues with Windows 11 22H2 Moment 4 update

urbancafeOceanGreen949

Hello,

If your mouse has recently been not working well, you have missclicks and random movements, you are not alone, its the latest windows update.

My computer recently updated to the latest version, which is called “Moment 4”.

This update broke the wireless 2.4Ghz functionality of my Razer Orochi V2 mouse. It would still work ,but every 8th click or so won’t register and would also randomly skip movements.

I have tried uninstalling the driver and the razer synapse 3 app ,re-pairing the mouse but nothing fixes it.I can’t uninstall this update ,so currently my only workaround is to use Bluetooth.

The mouse works perfectly fine under Linux.

@Razer, please release a new driver to fix this issue or let Micro$oft know about it.

Thanks

You can still uninstall the Moment 4 update. There are bunch other major issues with this update.

How?
I uninstalled KB5030310 , which should be it. But I see no change and the new audio mixer feature is still on ,so it doesn’t uninstall it completely I suppose.

Microsoft says to uninstall the update via cmd using DISM,however that didnt work either, getting Error: 0x800f0825

I did
DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP-IMAGE /SCANHEALTH
DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP-IMAGE /CHECKHEALTH
DISM /ONLINE /CLEANUP-IMAGE /RESTOREHEALTH
Sfc /Scannow
Restart the device.

still no luck

@urbancafeOceanGreen949 Hello. Did they fix the problem? I have the same issue to Razer. My Orochi v2 behaves exactly the same way

urbancafeOceanGreen949

Nope, I did a full windows reinstall , thats the only thing that fixed it.

I have a Basilisk x hyperspeed and its doing the exact same thing on 2.4ghz after I recently decided to update to windows 11. Can you confirm for a fact the issue did not return after the clean windows reinstall? I really don’t want to go through the trouble if it is just going to continue to be an issue.

I have turned off all the usb power saving functions in device manager per usb port / device under properties to try and fix the issue. I have also reinstalled the software, repaired the mouse to the dongle, tried other ports and i have also removed and reinstalled the devices and drivers.

I have also noticed that after updating to windows 11 that when the mouse is connected via BT that the Synapse software does NOT recognize the mouse at all. I believe it did under windows 10.  Not sure if it is intended, because my Blackwidow V3 mini hyperspeed is still recognized regardless of the connection type.

My system: MSI Raider GE66-10SFS

Windows 11 Pro 23H2

Same issue on my deathadder V2 with windows 11 23H2. Its surprising that there's no fix yet. Pretty disappointing.

Are you using the Razer software? Can you check device manager and see if your mouse is using a Windows driver or a Razer supplied driver?

if anyones having this issue, TURN OFF DYNAMIC LIGHTING.

settings → personalization → dynamic lighting → switch off

i had the same problem, stopped for me.

YES! Thank you! This worked for me too. I have the Razer Orochi v2. About every 8 or so clicks, it wouldn’t register one. And it would sometimes phantom click or the cursor would jump around. Turning off that stupid new “dynamic lighting” setting in Windows fixed it for me :)

THIS WORKS! Thank you. I can’t believe that dumb new Windows setting screws it up.
