Razer Orochi V2 - Unresponsive

It’s only been 6 months since I got this mouse but out of nowhere it suddenly stops responding in either of the two modes (2.4GHz and Bluetooth).

To say it isn’t working at all isn’t exactly accurate as the mouse will still allow some button inputs to be registered if I spam click them (like once every 3 seconds of spam clicking) although after a while it simply stops responding and my laptop considers the mouse as no longer connected. An additional note, the cursor seems to slowly be moving to the top left corner of the screen, seems to be something the mouse is causing as I noticed the issue being replicated when I had the mouse connected onto a different laptop.

Some quick googling allowed me to find some potential solutions involving firmware updates. I’ve tried the two firmware updates (one for the Bluetooth and the other for the dongle) and both encounter similar issues stopping them from completing being that the updates can’t proceed due to the mouse not getting detected.

As I never actually expected this kind of issue to ever arise, I have never really checked if I’m covered by warranty and eligible for it so that does worry me if worst comes to worst.

Also some more additional notes,

  • I’ve restarted my laptop multiple times
  • I’ve reinstalled Razer Synapse
  • I’ve attempted to use the mouse in a different laptop and found similar issues
  • I’ve tried switching between all possible USB ports on my laptop, no differences observed

Would greatly appreciate if anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or even solutions for this particular issue as I would really prefer if I don’t need to get myself a new mouse.

I would have to say the problem you describe is that the mouse is on its way out and is dying… seems obvious but not always and unfortunately you’re probably just gonna have to get a new mouse.

I would go with the Cobra Pro if you’re going to replace the Orochi V2 as it has all the connection types as the Orochi V2 does along with a better sensor, optical mouse switches (Orochi V2 has mechanical switches which are a bit notorious for issues) so thats a big plus here as they are really good 😃

Quick update if anyone stumble upon this thread, apparently there’s an issue with the latest Synapse update which caused some issues. Uninstalled mine and my mouse has been working fine ever since. So, that’s that. Will probably look back into reinstalling Synapse if they ever fix the issue but till then, will be living without it.
