BlackWidow V3 Pro spamming nonsense macros | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

Hey, as the title says, my BlackWidow V3 Pro started spamming macros I never assigned. I just came back to my computer and keys like “d” now type “dfrc”, “a” opens some Window stuff etc. I’ve tried reinstalling Synapse, updating the keyboard FW, testing on other PC, always the same. Any idea what might’ve caused this and how to fix it? Luckily I could swap to my old keyboard but this is genuinely one of the most annoying things that ever happened to me, related to my HW.

After going through all the possible steps with the Razer support, it seems to be a hardware failure. Not even a year after getting the keyboard.

When I type V,’ it displays “v5t g” and when | type  B it displays “b00:46 30-11-20236yhn”  all last row keys are working like this and I press shift key I’m getting  similar issue.

This was newly purchased  three months ago. This malfunction started two days ago , All the recommended updates have been carried out.

Really disappointed.

I had this same issue, it started about a month ago everytime i resterted my PC the keyboard wouldnt work unless I toggled the macro function on and off. 3 days ago, when i went to boot my PC my keyboard cooked it, I was mashing buttons to try to get it to work and finally it did after about 3 minutes I was able to get my BIOS password tyoed and was in! The following day, there was a synapse update, I thought maybe this would patch the issue… boy was i wrong.

I updated synapse and for one reset my keyboard was working fine although was still being a little suss (backlight doing weird stuff changing effects when i’ve has the same effect for years). Today when i started my PC whenever i would type my keyboard would regurgitate straight nonsense and kept spamming the enter key. I had a look in macros and notices that there were about 9 macros i never made one of them was bound to L and F9 as well as enter (I never did any of this but presumed it may have been all the mashing i was doing the days leading upto the update while the macro function was on). After deleting all the macros from synapse the keyboard went into full spastic mode i tyoed half a sentence and BAM i could no longer delete any profiles and in the macro section there was 6 new random macros (infuriating right!?!?!?!?!) this happened 4 times in a row until i realised the firmware for my keyboard needed updating, of course i update the firmware, thinking hopefully this fixes the issue. NOPE. Now it is typing nonsense spamming enter and there were no macros recorded in synapse at all! Cooked right!? So i rester the PC and get to BIOS password and can’t even type my password in. restart the PC again and type my passowrd in like an 80 year old using a keyboard for the first time, got in! do a few quick Pangram phrases on the keyboard (the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog) - everything seems fine. 3 hours after and it’s still fine (not to say next restert it’s just going to start happening again).

I think what I will be doing the second I have the money is switching back to the Corsair K75 Pro (the keys are more fragile but i never had any of this bullshit going on).

Same issue here fixed itsself after some painstaking restarts, a firmware update, a synapse update even though these didnt work its fixed itsself randomly after a restart, so now im just waiting for the issue to come back LOL fingers crossed it doesnt arise again, until i can get a new keyboard (might go back to corsair but we’ll see if the issue stays away), quite dissapointing considering i really like it - had it for 2 years before this.

Get your act together razer…. seriously.

Wanna know what helped me in the end? I bought a new, non-Razer keyboard after having the broken one in my closet for 8 months or so and just for fun tried Razer again (didn’t work a month before). And voila, it works. I have no idea if it’s some magical version of Razer SW or something but yeah. Wait about a year and it might solve itself, although I’m still paranoid that it will start again.

It sounds like your BlackWidow V3 Pro keyboard may have a malfunction or a software issue that is causing it to spam macros that you did not assign. This can be frustrating, but there are a few things you can try to resolve the issue.

First, make sure that your keyboard firmware and Synapse software are both up to date. Check the Razer website for any available updates and install them if necessary. You can also try resetting the keyboard to its default settings.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it is possible that there may be a hardware problem with your keyboard. You may want to contact Razer support to see if they can help diagnose and resolve the issue. If your keyboard is still under warranty, you may be able to get a replacement or repair.

In the meantime, using a backup keyboard is a good temporary solution. It's always frustrating when technology malfunctions, but with a little troubleshooting and patience, you should be able to get your keyboard back to working order soon.
