I want to rebind the two mouse buttons on the side of my mouse to increase and decrease volume, but I'm not sure how to do so. I've tried rebinding them to the f4 and f5 keys, then pressing them while holding down the fn button, but it doesn't work. I've also tried to add the fn key as a macro, but for some reason it won't record me pressing that key.
The mouse buttons in question do work, as the respond to other keys being rebinded to them, I just can't make them change the volume. Any ideas on what I should do? My computer is a windows 10 model, if that helps.

You're doing it wrong - if you've bound it to F4, and F5 keys - it will be only F4 & F5 - not the multimedia keys from your KB, even if you've used the FN key.
In Synapse 3 just click on the desired key to rebind - for eg. MB5 - click on Multimedia then choose Volume Up, go to MB4, choose Multimedia again and choose Volume Down.
Thank you so much for this, you have no idea how much this has been bugging me. I hope you have an incredible day, because you've certainly made mine!
