Synapse 3 not controlling RBG MSI B450 Pro Carbon AC | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
As the title states, Synsapse 3 will not control the RGB on my mobo. I have the newest mystic light installed and in Synapse 3 it shows in the connect "Devices" tab. I have tried multiple installs and uninstalls of each, and still no luck. I have G.Skill Ram and a DeepCool AIO. Anyone have any luck getting this to work?

Thanks!
Hello,

Anyone have any direction?

Thanks!

Its here, i just need it to control it. Or does it mean I need a Razer product and THEN it will control it?
Does it matter which RGB header?
Anyone? Downloaded newst mystic light as well 3.0.0.54
Do you have a Synapse 3 enabled Razer device connected to your PC? Synapse does not install/activate the Chroma engine components if it doesn't detect a Razer device connected to the PC.
Isnt MSI a partnered brand to be using with synapse 3? Noone has told me otherwise that the B450 pro carbon does not work with synapse. It detects it and mystic light, but does not control them.
MSI is a partnered brand, but it doesn't work with Synapse in isolation. Only when you have one Synapse 3-enabled Chroma device.
Is the b450 pro carbon a synapse 3 enabled chroma device?
This is a list of all Synapse-3 enabled devices : http://drivers.razersupport.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=viewdownload&downloaditemid=2731&nav=0,343,704

MSI (and all brands listed here) are a part of "Connected devices" program, which requires one of the devices in the above list to work.
I feel as though it’s very misleading. I was under the assumption that having a “connected device” brand would allow for synapse to control it. Why aren’t any of the partnered brands devices on that list?(or did I miss them). I’ve have other forum posts staining that synapse 3 controls their mystic light like it should mine.

Synapse doesn't know or detect what partner devices exist on the System. Synapse directly talks to the partner software (Mystic Light in your case) and sends Chroma commands to it. Mystic light software then applies it to the hardware it supports.

Doesn't necessarily have to be a Razer product. As long as it's a native Synapse 3 device (could even be Philips Hue lights or Lian Li Razer edition case). Then it will install the necessary Chroma components and everything should work.
So lets cut to the chase here...Will it or will it not run my B450 Pro Carbon AC motherboard? Thats all I need to know. Other forum posts I have made seem to think it should, but on here you make it seem like it will not. This should be this hard, especially when its a partnered brand. I was under the impression it would recognize mystic light and run it. The B450 is not an old board either. I feel like someone should be able to tell me if it will work or not.
Short answer : I don't know. Razer doesn't (can't) detect MSI products. We just provide an API to MSI to sync Mystic Light devices with Synapse 3 devices.

Long answer : Given that you have the option available in Mystic light for your specific motherboard, it's very likely that MSI added Chroma connect support for that model. But only MSI can confirm this 100%. We don't restrict/regulate what motherboards should get Chroma Connect. What I can tell you is that you definitely need a "native" Synapse 3 device before you can sync it with a Mystic light device (or any of the connected devices brands). I linked the list of Synapse 3 devices above.

I have no idea where to go from here, any ideas?

Step 1 : Confirm with MSI if your specific model has Chroma Connect support.

Step 2 : Acquire a Synapse 3 device to sync your motherboard with.

Alternatively, if you have a friend with a Synapse 3 device, you can verify this yourself by using the device on your PC.
