2.4 GHz dongle isn't working at high temperature ? | Razer Insider

I got a Orochi v2 and plugged into my laptop’s rear usb port. Here’s my problem. I was playing games with 2.4 GHz mode using the mice a few days ago, and it just suddenly disconnected and connected again and again ( never seen this before, and it still happens even changed battery so it shouldn’t  be lack of power). I immediately switch it to another port beside my laptop and it just work fine. After that, I seek for solution of this problem and none of them works(eg, turning off “allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” of every usb root hub, pairing utility showed failed to pair, etc.). The connection was just fine when playing first 5 minutes as the temperature rises, the connection become unstable just as said. When plugged into side usb port which have lower temperature, it works perfectly. Is it because of 2.4 dongle can’t work at high temperature or it is abnormal? None of this problem happened before, I bought it for about several months.

I have the same issue with my orochi v2. I’m using a dell xps laptop. I have had the mouse for more than a year tho. This is the first time I had this problem. The usb part is extremly hot. I have to use the bluetooth connection instead

Same problem here, I’ve had my Orochi v2 for about a year and a half and it started disconnecting non-stop while gaming a couple of days ago. The dongle is plugged into the rear USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port of my Lenovo Legion laptop.

Turning off the power saving option in the device manager did nothing for me either. Mouse drivers and laptop BIOs are up to date. Other devices plugged in the rear port work just fine even when the laptop heat rises.

I have no choice but to use bluetooth now since my laptop doesn’t have side USB-A ports, which is a bummer because 2.4Ghz feels a lot smoother. I’d also like to know if this is a faulty product or a common issue with this dongle.
