I just got my activation code with the serial number of my device, but when I try to use it inside of the 7.1 Surround Sound app it says it’s not valid.

You need to download 7.1 Surround app: https://mysupport.razer.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/614 not THX Spatial (this is a different surround app)...
