so typically I use Xbox chat for gaming with my son and friends as an all around live chat source; however, about a week ago, they suddenly started NOT being able to hear me. As a worked through different issues, I have narrowed it down to this.
- I start the computer
- wait for everything to spin up, so approx 3 min
- hit the windows + G button to enter xbox chat.
- Either way this works the same
- user invites me to their chat
- I invite a user to my chat
- while the chat box is open, after a couple of seconds, chat is normal
- IMPORTANT - click anywhere on PC, Xbox chat goes to the background…
- they can’t hear me, but I can hear them.
I can’t tell if its an xbox chat problem that I’m having, I have gone through all the resources I can on that side, so now I’m wondering if its a Razor specific problem.
IE as long as a hit windows + G they can hear me, but if in the middle of a game, that’s a bit of a stretch when I’m normally running open mic in our group and not push to talk. I have tried this also, nothing changes except I have to hit more buttons for them to hear me!
Any assistance is greatly appreciated!!
Yes I have restarted 10 times or more, I have done windows updates, razor updates, xbox PC updates checked all the settings and the headset is the default audio in and Mic “appears” setup correctly
Could I have possibly hit some quick key combo in a game that stopped the mic from working in the background? Maybe...but if I use discord it works just fancy….and I don’t normally use the word fancy...
