Blackshark V2 Pro (2023) Volume Problem | Razer Insider
Skip to main content

I just bought this headset, the first time I used it everything was normal, but when my laptop turns off or restarts, then the windows volume has no effect on my headset.

Windows volume slider at 1 or 100 produces the same sound output on the headset, and the volume knob on the headset will only adjust the volume of the headset itself, not the windows volume. The volume slider on synapse also has no effect on the headset.

I've tried updating the firmware, reinstalling synapse, reinstalling the drivers, but still the same problem will appear when windows restarts. The temporary solution is to unplug and plug the dongle again. For context, I'm using Windows 11 and a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro laptop.

Is there any way to solve this problem?

Hello smashedtofu,

I’m sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing with the headset not properly syncing with the Windows volume control after the laptop restarts. To further isolate the issue, please follow the steps laid out below:

  1. Check Power Management Settings: Make sure that the USB port where the dongle is connected is not set to power off to save power. You can do this by going to Device Manager, finding the USB port, right-clicking, selecting Properties, and then checking the Power Management tab.
  2. Try to uninstall and reinstall the headset driver: You may follow the steps below.
    a. Press Windows + S on your keyboard to open the Search bar.
    b. Type in "Device Manager" and hit enter.
    c. Expand Audio Inouts and Outputs.
    d. Expand Right-click on Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio) and select Uninstall Device.
    e. Restart your computer to completely uninstall the drivers. The drivers are automatically installed on your computer after a restart.
  3. Disable Exclusive Mode: Go to Sound settings in Windows, select your headset as the default playback device, click on Properties, go to the Advanced tab, and uncheck "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device."

If the same problem persists, PM me your device serial number so I can provide additional workarounds. All the best!
