Core V1 + 2016 Stealth w/ 1080Ti - shuts off, fan sounds like a jet

Hey there,

If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. I've got a 2016 Stealth connected to the first gen Core with a GTX 1080Ti. Recently after a few minutes the GPU will shut off, turning off the monitor connected to it, and the laptop will sound like a jet on take off. I have to disconnect the laptop and it will usually be okay, but if I reconnect to the eGPU the behavior will return. I don't really know where to start on fixing this. I've checked and updated any drivers I could, as well as windows updates, but everything is now up to date and the behavior still is occurring. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
