As the folks at Razer well know, the Naga V2 Hyperspeed requires a AA battery rather than having an integrated rechargeable battery.  The product user guide page 6 (pdf page 7) states:

Caution: The included AA battery is non-rechargeable. Dispose of batteries in accordance with your local environmental laws. For your safety, use only lithium or alkaline batteries.

This seems to imply that users should use only disposable lithium or alkaline batteries.  However, I would prefer to use a rechargeable battery if possible.

  1. Is it safe/effective/acceptable to use rechargeable batteries in the Naga V2 Hyperspeed (either lithium ion or NiMH)?  The product documentation seems to say ‘no’, but I want a more firm answer to the question.
  2. Since I know relatively little about batteries, I want to know what difference exists between the batteries that would make some acceptable and others unacceptable.  However, satisfying this curiosity is secondarily important to my main question.

Please share any information and insight you may have.  Thank you!

Hello flippantelf,

You can also use rechargeable lithium or alkaline batteries for your Razer Naga V2 HyperSpeed. They're both great options that can give your mouse the juice it needs to keep up with your gaming sessions. Hope this helps! If you need further assistance, feel free to PM me with your headset serial number so I can assist you promptly. Have a great day. and stay safe!
