Monitor stand or vesa mount on Goliathus chroma?

So this may be a dumb question, but I’ve been looking at getting the new Golaithus 3xl, when I found out it will take up the whole width of the Ikea Lagkapten desk I’ve also been looking at. Although I’ve heard 3xl tutuapp mousepads are also supposed to have a monitor on top. My only question is would VESA mounting a monitor on top of the mousepad damage it, or mess with the rgb, or is it better to put the VESA Mount underneath the mousepad? (If possible).
