More Power Required when using OEM Razer charger

I’m using the OEM Razer charger I received when I bought my Razer Blade 15 Advanced 2021. However recently every time I plug the charger in I get a More Power Required popup.

I don’t seem to notice any otherwise negative effects on charging or performance (granted I don’t play that challenging games) but am concerned this represents some kind of power supply or battery issue.

Any advice on how to debug this issue?

Make sure nothing else is plugged into the USB-C or TB ports providing it power. Is the battery charging to 100%? Its potentially the battery that needs replacing. You could open it and check for swelling, but when mine first had the same issue you are having, there was not visible swelling. It took me about 9 months of trying different things (including buying a new power adapter) before I finally could see the swelling. I obtained a new battery, and so far (1 month) my RB15 is performing properly and charging again.

I’m having the same issue. Maybe the latest update of the Razor software is causing this? I never saw this error before and the laptop is likely not even old enough to be having battery issues.

@ChristopherSnay What year is yours?

@ChristopherSnay  also, check out this post - seems there may be an issue with the recent (June 2023) Synapse update which may also cause the popup message to appear.

@mjcouchman
 do you have any idea when it will be fixed or if I can continue to use my blade 15 without any worry?

since blade 15 is not cheap and I don't want to break it

Hey all,

I’ve posted some information on the other post @mjcouchman linked from my troubleshooting efforts since I had the same problem a few days ago. After performing a windows system restore to the 13th June 2023 the symptoms disappear. This is the earliest restore point I had available (due to disk space constraints).

@Kevinkceka Sorry for the delay in replying. You will be fine to keep using your Blade, this does seem to be the software issue that @4t0m1c4 and the previous post I referred to, is causing. I haven’t heard anything from Razer yet, but they do seem to be monitoring these threads. You will probably notice some degradation in performance in your Blade when doing things that are a bit more intensive (e.g.. games, CAD work, software development).

I have the same error out of the blue. RB15 2020

So glad to see this thread! I just started seeing this error today and was super worried. Using Razer Blade 15 Base Model (Early 2020)

hi, same problem on my blade 14 2021 rtx3080. Please help!

I’m glad I wasn’t the only one experiencing this issue, got really worried for a second since I had never experienced this issue with my Razer Blade 15 Base Model.

The same problem as mentioned everywhere on a Razer Blade 15 2020. Please, Razer, give us a sign of life. I can't afford to do a system restore because of one of your faulty updates. I really need the creator mode, and I'm wasting so much time due to its unavailability. Please don't leave us without any updates!

Latest Synapse update seems to have fixed this problem for me (RB15 Adv 2021 RZ09-036) - I think the update is 20230704 (3.8.630.62814).

After updating my Razer Blade 15 advanced from 2021 to windows 11 last month. I’ve begun receiving this error after startup (or wake up).
Something notable: it does actually effect your Synapse/Performance settings when this warning pops. Seems to lock them down with a prompt about not enough power. Curious if it has something to do with NVIDIA Optimus???

I havent had any issue while my machine is plugged (battery life ZC is horrible on these from day one) even when playing or working in zbrush or substance painter (both can be resource intensive)
