Hello,
Having issues getting 4K 120Hz while gaming on LG 55QNED80UQA with Razer Blade Pro 17 - 4K Touch 120Hz - GeForce RTX 2080 Super Max-Q. This 55” TV should support 4K at 120Hz and support both G-Sync and Free Sync: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/qned80-2022
The laptop’s HDMI is 2.0b so in order to get 4K at 120Hz I tried an Amazon USB-C to HDMI 2.1 cable (www.amazon.ca/dp/B0BNQ3237W) and also Best Buy’s RocketFish HDMI 2.1 Cable with j5create USB-C to HDMI 2.1 8K Adapter. I connected both cables to the Thunderbolt 3 port on the right side of the laptop.
In made sure in the TV’s menu I turned on Gaming mode and FreeSync VRR.
With the Amazon Cable I was able to get the Setup G-Sync option in the NVIDIA Control Panel but in 4K the picture was turning off then one all the time about once a second, even with just the desktop.
With the cable and adapter I got at Best Buy I was not given the option to setup G-Sync in the NVIDIA Control Panel. 4K at 120 Hz worked for the desktop, but as soon as I launched a game, the image on the TV was just static.
Any suggestions on how I can get 4K 120Hz gaming on my LG TV?
I’m sure this laptop is more than capable to support 4K 120HZ in gaming.
Thank you.
