my x button stopped working so re mapped it to one of the extra buttons on controller and that didn't work either tried on all 4 extra buttons but still no response yet they work for circle, square and triangle when I re map them, anyone know how to fix iv tried pretty much everything with no success

I’d appreciate it if you could send a list of all the troubleshooting steps you've tried aside from remapping the buttons so we can scratch them off our list. All the best!
it is out of warranty hence why I asked here, I made sure ps4 was up to date, I tried switching to different presets within the app to map buttons for controller, reset controller through app and also tried mapping the x button to different extra buttons with no success but any other button I mapped worked fine
