Reposting here with the hopes of getting a reply - tried reddit first with no luck so far.. 

 

Hi there!

After a lot of back and forth about my next mouse choice since my G900 finally died last week, I've been thinking of switching to a Razer Basilisk V3 Pro, as the lack of type C charging on the "updated" G903 model is a real dealbraker for me in 2023.
However, as I've been reading, the current Razer software does not function at all on MacOS. Personally, I don't care for RBG, the "smart wheel" or re-programmable mouse keys.
Nevertheless, I'm hoping that someone here can shed some light on what kind of functionality I can actually expect when choosing to run the new Basilisk on MacOS.

More specifically, I'm looking for the following info:

  1. Will the back and forward buttons work as expected just by plug and play?

  2. Will the button for DPI levels still change the sensitivity, based on the default intervals?

  3. Will I be able to turn off RGB completely if I choose to do so?

  4. And lastly, if I hook the mouse to a windows device and do some customisation through Razer's software, will the changes be kept int he mouse when moving over to my macbook?

Not sure if anyone is able to answer my questions, but if there is anyone that's been down that road before, your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

I’ve just acquired a brand new Basilisk V3 Pro and I’m very grateful for take the decision to purchase it.

Answering your questions, not knowing if you already tried it by your self:

1 - The 3 buttons on the left, work on the fly on Mac with the default functions. No matter if you connect the mouse with the dongle or with BT.

2 - The DPI button works as expected changing the mouse sensitivity on 5 levels.

3 - Some say that is possible to work the RGB with “Razer MacOS” open source software but didn’t work for me. Not even been able to add it to the software. Could be a Somona issue.

4 - For me worked to customise it on Windows but only for the button functions. The RGB returned to the default mode. Didn’t change even with the “Razer MacOS”

Please let me know if you need more information about this mouse.
