Razer Blade 14 smoke emitted from laptop while being usbc charged | Razer Insider

Yesterday I was using my 2021 Razer Blade 14” while it was being charged by a usbc charger plugged into a wall outlet. I then unplugged the charger from the wall, walked over to a new outlet, plugged it in again and started using my laptop again but then the laptop shut off and wouldn't turn on. It eventually turned on when i pressed the power button a couple times but then a couple seconds later smoke started coming out the rear vents and it smelled like something was burning so I immediately unplugged it and turned it off.

Now, today I removed the back cover to see if maybe the battery was damaged but it didn't have any apparent damage and when I turned my laptop on with the battery removed (using the proprietary charger) I smell the same burning smell near one of the usbc ports. I didn't see any damage or burn marks on the inside of the laptop near the connectors and both usbc ports still work for using peripherals. The smoke isn't coming out anymore but the smell lingers. I'm out of the warranty now and don't know how I should proceed. I rely on this laptop every single day for class as I’m a college student and really cant risk it breaking completely as finals are coming up.

I’d really appreciate some help in diagnosing the issue.

That’s sad to hear. For your safety, please refrain from using the unit. Razer has an out-of-warranty repair for those customers who resides within the shipping grid (refer to this article). Feel free to send me a PM, including your laptop’s serial number, so I can help you kick-start a repair request. Thanks for your cooperation.
