Razer Blade 15 Advanced Model RZ09-0409 (Battery/Charge Issue) | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
Hello, not sure if anyone has experienced this yet or knows of a way to fix this but my laptop indicates that it is on battery while plugged in. The battery does not drain, however now if I disconnect the AC power and run on battery it will drain but then not charge. However, if I disable the battery and shutdown the laptop and plug it in the battery will go back to 100 percent.

Prior to today's issue. The laptop was experiencing more issues where the laptop would cycle between charging and on battery while plugged in which makes things very cranky. To fix that I disabled the battery in Device Manager so that laptop would default to on AC power.

On a Side note, simultaneously to these issues the touch screen stopped working. Not sure if it is related or not.

Then about a month later the laptop decided to go blue screen and not come back. SSD was no longer appearing in the boot menu.

That is when I replaced the following:

  • Replaced Battery

  • Replaced Power Adapter

  • Replaced SSD (reloaded computer from Razer Boot Key) To fix Blue Screen of Death

Now it seems I am back at the weird laptop running on battery but is clearly on AC power. Any help would be appreciated. I have tried to uninstall both the Battery and AC adapter and reboot the laptop to reinstall the drivers to no luck.

Cheers,
Electriczen

Hi Electriczen,

This is highly likely a hardware problem. Please PM me the serial number so I can validate its model and check for other workarounds to help you address the battery issue. Thanks!
