Razer Kraken X - audio distortion with the splitter cabel

I got Razer Kraken X in early 2021. It's been fine but a couple weeks back, suddenly when I plugged it in w/ the split mic & headset cable the sound started sounding distorted. It's either quiet or on Youtube you can't even hear anything, it's just gibberish. If you plug in just headset without the mic it works fine. I bought a spare split cable thinking it might be split cable issue, but nope. Same issue. Is that PC issue, headset/mic issue, or what?

Drivers don't seem to be an issue btw, they're updated. PC checked for viruses but it wasn't an issue.
