Razer Naga Pro Connections Issues | Razer Insider
Skip to main content
All,

Today Razer Synapse performed an update and, in the process, broke the wireless functionality of my mouse.

The mouse will not go into Bluetooth pairing mode and when using the USB dongle, the mouse will continuously connect and then disconnect as soon as I stop moving the mouse. The cursor will freeze intermittently as the mouse is moved during the connects and disconnects.

If I connect the mouse with the supplied cable, it works fine.

Is there a way to roll back the update?

I tried the mouse on two other computers, and it had the same problem. I have had this mouse for 11 months and this is the first issue I have had with it.
A number of people are reporting driver issues after a recent Synapse update. You don't have Riot Vanguard installed on your system by any chance? Its gaming anti-cheat software commonly installed with other games like Valorant. Reported 'solution' so far has been to uninstall Synapse and Riot Vanguard, reboot, then re-install Synapse and the drivers should work again.
I do not, I uninstalled Valorant and Vanguard about 3-4 days ago.

I have already reinstalled Synapse twice after doing a full removal.
If it does the same on multiple computers, then it would suggest device failure. As its only 11 months old, its still under warranty, so I would start the warranty process with whoever you purchased it from. Typically, mice don't usually get repaired, so you may be lucky and end up with a new one!
It just doesn't make sense that after the update that all of a sudden, the wireless functionality (both bluetooth and 2.4ghz) do not work as they did before. The mouse shuts off and disconnects within a couple of seconds after a movement or button press.

If I plug it in with the supplied cable it works fine. It's been several years, but I have had Razer updates brick peripherals before. My Battlefield 3 Edition Blackwidow keyboard suffered a similar fate.

**Update** Also, if I plug the supplied cable into the mouse with it off, the mouse just blinks. It does the same thing with the charging dock. It just blinks.

Whatever update they did, it might have bricked the mouse
Okay, I have resolved my issue it appears.

  • Fully uninstall Synapse again.

  • Go through and remove all files/folders/registry entries regarding Synapse and Razer

  • Remove all device data using IObit Driver Booster (clear out invalid device data to remove all traces of it from system)

  • Reboot computer

  • Plug in the USB Dongle and then the cable into the Naga Pro

  • Reinstall Synapse

  • Skip syncing my profiles from the cloud and use the Quick Start ones.

  • Deleted all profiles for my Razer Devices

My mouse now works as it should and it charges properly off the docking station.
