Surround sound reversed

When I watch a video or play a game which uses the 3d surround sound, if the sound is supposed to be played to my left I hear it on my right and when the sound is supposed to be played to my right I hear it on my left and I have a pc with a broken headphone plug so I cannot fix it with my pc does anyone know how to fix this problem?
