I'm on my second 2023 Blade 15 (returned the first one due to false advertising around the RGB function on the UK Layout) and Synapse seems so random in the way it works it's not even funny. I run a very light, clean system and the newer one I'm using right now has the exact same problems with Synapse the first one had, leading me to believe it's definitely not me (factory resets and full, clean Synapse reinstalls on both didn't fix anything).
- The option (battery refresh rate) to have the refresh rate automatically lowered to 60Hz when on battery sometimes works and sometimes ddoesn't and requires a manual change anyway.
- The performance tab will sometimes show all the options and sometimes it'll just show the boxes/icons for each plan and something it will not display the additional options under Balanced or Custom.
- When you set the profiles for games and associate them with performance modes, sometimes it will switch automatically like it's supposed to but most of the time it will not.
- Sometimes Synapse won't even start properly and will require it's services restarted or force the user to do a full reset.
- Sometimes the FN+F10 (RGB dim) and FN+F2 (Volume down) will stop working and require a restart.
Overall it's a complete and utter mess. Some of those problems seem to be associated with the laptop waking from sleep but I can't be 100% sure. It's a complete pisstake considering the money Razer charges for their systems as well as how long people have been complaining about Synapse, let alone its current iteration. I won't even go into smaller details like incredibly sluggish keyboard light up when it's waking up from inactivity or every time it reapplies user chroma settings after waking the laptop up. How hard is it to get this type of software right ??? Reddit and other forums are full of complaints about Synalse dating years back and it's still in a laughable state, meanwhile the competition like Alienware with its Command Center fit it right almost half a decade ago.
