How to Check if FPS Drops Are Caused by a CPU/GPU Bottleneck

I’ve noticed a lot of players reporting sudden FPS drops or stuttering even on powerful setups. Sometimes it’s not just the game engine or drivers – it can be a CPU/GPU bottleneck issue.

Basically, if your processor can’t keep up with the graphics card (or the other way around), you’ll see random performance dips that don’t always match your graphics settings. Lowering resolution or details won’t fix it, because the real limitation is the hardware balance.

If you want to find out whether that’s the case with your rig, you can try a bottleneck calculator like this one. It gives a quick estimate of how well your CPU and GPU work together and whether an upgrade in one area could actually fix the problem.

Has anyone here tested their setup with bottleneck tools? Did it match your real-world FPS experience?

I thought I knew all the TikTok emojis… until I saw one I couldn’t find anywhere on the keyboard 👀 That’s when I discovered the hidden code system. Now I’ve got the whole collection saved here
