Asus 1050ti with an intel i5 3750k (nearly time to upgrade)

Definitely time for an upgrade if I may say so. I also own a 3rd Gen i5 and I'm having big troubles with games.
RX 580 8GB
NV 1660 Super

CPU : I7 870 OC at 3.52GHz

Wow, I thought I would be the only person still running an i7 870 (but it's stock).
Paired with a Gigabyte GTX 1050 OC 2GB.

I know but didn't have the budget to buy a new one :frown_:

But you had the budget to buy a 8GB graphics card? :confused_:

It's still running fine even after almost 10 years but I plan to change it over next year.

What is the temp of yours (no/little load) and ambient temp? I've changed the thermal paste 3 times in the past 2 years I think (with Arctic Silver 5) but it still seems worse than before. I use Advanced System Care performance monitor, and unless they've changed the fan speed from chassis to CPU fan speed (it doesn't specify), the fan speed is much higher than before. Currently 620 RPM (chassis) and 1480 RPM (CPU); 42℃ with an ambient temp of 16℃. I haven't put heavy loads on it since the last time I applied it.
Sorry for going a little off topic.

I answered you in PM.
MSI 2060 Super.

Runs everything I throw at it with some more headroom. Next upgrade should be a 4080.

Oh wow. Wouldn't that be overkill :big_grin_: but I guess you don't know what resource intensive games will be coming out in the future
I’m using the Radeon rx 5600xt
Still rockin the 1050 ti laptop. Out of hope, I upgraded to 32 GB of RAM. Helps but is not improving gameplay by a lot.

I don't know of any games that would take up that much RAM for 32GB to be helpful, unless you've got other things using heaps of RAM.

Streaming maybe ?
But it's still overkill for that.
Moreover paired with a 1050 Ti.
I also got the same 1050 Ti on my i5 laptop, but so far it's been decent for short gaming sessions (heating is a bigger problem than its performance), I plan on upgrading my PC's 1060 though.
Nvidia GTX 1060, which seems to be 'recommended' by Steam for Cyberpunk 2077 so it's all I want for now.
Does get warm though. I do need to clean out the machine.
I have a modest 760 and an i5 3rd gen
