Not sure why, but when I plug in my Steelseries Arctis 5 to either of the two USB ports and play video games or in discord, the audio cuts out and statics. Contact customer support on SteelSeries got some replacement and still had the issue. Till I didn't use the port and just the motherboard and no issues.

Due to rise in USB peripherals, users are needing those multi hub USB ports to plug in more USB components.

One disadvantage of multi hub USB port is the data bottleneck.
Single port is being used to transfer data in and out from all ports, which can lead to data bottleneck.

I am guessing it is this data bottleneck that is causing the peripherals to disconnect. After all, multi hub USB ports should be used to connect simple peripherals, non-high tech peripherals.

Hmm I see, but I do have the base station plug to the 3.1 usb port on my motherboard. (ASUS TUF X570 WIFI)

So it is a question of how this bottleneck occurs. Or even data collision.

Even motherboards can face limited data bandwidths.
Once I used my wireless basilisk ULT on an old motherboard via USB 2.0 and it worked fine. After I have upgraded my motherboard, the mouse cursor was not moving properly, as though if there was some data latency in the USB 2.0.

After plugging the wireless dock to USB 3.0, it started working normal.

As long as I/O and USB port drivers are up to date, the motherboard should work well with USB peripherals.

One thing about the RAZER base station is that the Synapse is used to maintain the colour configuration.
RAZER Synapse 3.0 peripherals and its colour configuration work as long as the Synapse is running in the background.

So there is that constant data flow between the Synapse and peripherals to keep the lighting going. If you connect high tech devices on the hubs, which can cause data bottleneck between your audio data and colour data.

It is difficult to understand a fast USB port could face data bottleneck or data collision, but motherboard/s also need investigation as well. I'm constantly monitoring the behavior of my USB peripherals connected to a high speed USB 2.0 multi hub.

I'm testing 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2 ports and giving updates on my thread monthly.

Hmm ok, but how does just plugging in 1 device to the base station give it data bottleneck? I plug my headset now to my Blackwidow v2 and seems fine.

It seems that I gave the wrong information on the USB port that I plug the Razer base station v2, Its actually USB 3.2 gen 2. Not 3.1.
