Razer blade 15 webcam stops working?
I was scrolling through Youtube reviews about Razer blade 15 (which I'm about to buy it) and to my surprise, I saw a video and many comments that its webcam stops to work after a couple of months. On Reddid many people confronted with this issue as well. Appreantly it's a hardware problem and one must return it to the company to fix.
I'm totally confused and I dunno should I buy one or not? Note that there are no Razer stores in my country, I can't return the laptop to fix any hardware problem!

Yes I saw some on Reddit but mine is doing fine near 2 years, webcam is important especially in this time. I personally need it for my amateur music hobby, if it breaks maybe I’d buy proper webcam, the picture quality is better on my phone. However I won’t buy an expensive laptop even it’s well known and reliable one if there’s no support around, I bought some cheap laptops from China that looks like MBP13 with better dgpu but has no local support, even it’s like half price and has similar build, once I got issue, contacting support took forever. Repair my self sold it then they answered my support ticket LoL:big_grin_: Maybe Razers would be different but still lack of local support would be an issue imo.
I had this happen to my 2018 Blade 15 Advanced (1080p/144Hz, 1060-Max Q) model. Had to have the display replaced out-of-warranty to fix. Not sure if it's an issue with the newer models with 1080p/240Hz or 4k/OLED.
On a side note, got it back last week and the display has been replaced, the webcam works, but my GPU is having new issues I'm trying to contact support about, but having little success getting through by phone or chat. They seem to be pretty heavily impacted by COVID-19.
I think this only affected the 2018 Blade 15 Advanced models. I had one and noticed the webcam failed after a BIOS update. I now have the Mid 2019 Blade 15 Advanced and it doesn't have this issue with the webcam
mister_DillyI’ve advanced 2018 very early unit and doesn’t have the issue, mic and camera are working just fine.
I think this only affected the 2018 Blade 15 Advanced models. I had one and noticed the webcam failed after a BIOS update. I now have the Mid 2019 Blade 15 Advanced and it doesn't have this issue with the webcam
