Should Gamers Learn to Cook?

Userlevel 6
Personally, I think gamers should learn to cook as most of the games require gamers to sit still to play it. This can potentially cause quite a lot of problems like higher risk to get health issues like obesity especially the hardcore ones who don't like to exercise. However, when a gamer learns to cook, he or she can control the food that he or she will eat and significantly adjust his or her calorie intake. In this way, the gamer can game on comfortably without worrying about his or her health. Thus, making them able to perform better in game with good health.

I uh, forgot about this thread. ok, final thoughts:
gamers should learn how to cook. however I believe absolutely everyone should have at least a basic understanding of general cooking. cooking for yourself is absolutely essential for any occupation, not just gaming. the reason why I think this way is because I do not know a single person who lives independently and doesn't know how to cook SOMETHING. everyone should eventually know how to make basic foods, like eggs, rice, soups, etc.
engineers need 2 know how to cook. so do professional soccer players. and janitors. university students.
everyone needs to know how to cook whether they are a gamer or not.
but the minimum anybody should know about cooking is absolutely debatable

Interesting post and responses. I was wondering. What about the inverse of this? Should cooks learn how to game?

If I could give my opinion on what you said here, it would not hurt for a cook to learn to game, but it all depends on if they have the will to learn to game. As we know gaming either comes natural for some and other need practice depending on the platform and games played.

You can update it. I updated my profile by changing my birthday by informing Razer Support. I suppose you are right! Most gamers are at home instead of lingering in shopping malls (except mobile gamers like me). That makes gamers hard to identify. I am actually searching for girl friend who is also a gamer and she is either same age or younger than me but it is really hard to find a gamer girl. Unless Razer make integrates dating ability into Razer Insider Forum? Haha just joking :big_grin_:

Actually no I can not. I have some sort of admin lock on my account. Sadly not the only one with this issue either. As another individual has spoken to me as we seem to have same issue lol.
What needs to be done, is who either handles the profiles / accounts usually an administrator or moderator has to give permission on my account, depending on their settings are. Or it might be even more technical. I am unsure how Razer's threads.

But in my experience just updating an account does not always fix a complex issue, I wish it was that easy, but it is not. I literally get an error not having permission to post on threads that are actually open lol.

As far the other part you mentioned the girlfriend part, I would not just date one because they game, I would look for someone who matches your interests and all. Some will be perfect match other might, there are many out there though 🙂

Also Not all dating sites work either, mainly due to not every person who may match you will be on the one you sign up on, been there done that, so many mistakes made lol. I wish you luck though :)

Always keep this in mind though even if you are 25 and you have not seen many 37year olds gaming, we are around. I have met some folks in their 80's who game. Age is only a number, and since there are gamers all around the world, we are all spread out :)

Also right now gaming is an outlet for me on one my battles right now, so helps me to get through my day at times since I am unable to work due to serious illness I am battling.

One day if Razer ever fixes my permissions on my account I can update that part. Until then I am not allowed to update my profile lol.

Women like, and greatly appreciate, men that can cook. Watch some cooking shows, do some experimenting in the kitchen, and enjoy more than what your gaming can offer. Take this as a married, 45 year old gamer who can handle himself equally well in the kitchen and behind a keyboard.
have to know your food and how to cook that

I thank you on the compliment, I am not sure I would think of myself as young to be honest, but as well do not think of myself to be too old either, at least I hope I am not the oldest on here lol. I am 37 right now. :)

I think in my opinion depending on the person as each person out there is different, that each person at some point in their life should learn to cook their own meals. Now just because one can cook does not mean that that individual will not still get health issues, because sadly not everyone makes the correct eating habits out there.
But say said gamer wanted to save money and try and be health I would say learn to cook at home that way you can cook the proper foods, and who knows you might some day meet that lady / gent in the future who may or may not be a gamer, but you can show off your cooking skills for them.

I started cooking I think sometime in my 20's or 30's when I moved out as I was not able to do so living with my parents, and I got to say I have used cooking not only as a hobbie but it helps me relieve stress at times since I usually cook meals for my partner and I, and share with my parents from time to time as I take them meals.

I don't understand why the only incentive you list for good health is "to be able to play more games". I agree that gamers need to be healthy, but everybody else should to. However my top reasons for desiring good health aren't going to be focused on being able to play more games.

I mean for hardcore gamers. I am not a hardcore gamer but I play games daily whenever I have time. I love to travel, to see the wonders of the world, the way how people from different parts of the world managing things, to learn their strength, try out the different acceptable food and compare the real world places with the in game ones

You are right but in my opinion it is risky to be a diehard gamer. Gamers need to have a good health too, in order to be good in games and able to play more games in their lifetime. Without a healthy body, they might get sick and unable to play games well. Worst, they might die and unable to play games anymore, specifically the newly or will be released one. Don't you think it's a pity?

It really depends on your idea of gamer vs ordinary people. To me, gamers aren't that different from ordinary people-i think gamers are ordinary themselves. Lack of exercise or eating a surplus of unhealthy food isn't a characteristic unique to gamers. Also gamers have varying amounts of time they spend gaming. It would be a whole different topic if we were specifically discussing diehard gamers tho

There is. Gamers spend time sitting stationary while ordinary people move around. Buy cooking by themselves, gamers can effectively cut down their calorie intake and maintain their body weight or even prevent themselves from getting obese. As a result, they can live longer and game longer. Don't you think so?
