DCH Drivers...... Thoughts or concerns?

So after a recent windows update and Intel driver update I lost my Microsoft store app. It was just gone a bunch of other windows apps like calculator and stuff like that were gone also.
So after trying everything and not being able to get it back I decided to repair my windows 10. The repair tool said there was nothing wrong, so I did a fresh install of windows. I got my Microsoft store app back and the other missing Windows 10 apps. However my Nvidia control panel was gone. I installed new drivers to find out the "Standard" Nvidia Drivers were no longer compatible with my system. Having manually installed all my Nvidia Drivers since I built my PC and always using the "Standard" Drivers I found this strange. I installed the DCH Drivers because it was the only Driver compatible with my system. still no Nvidia control panel. I tried installing it from the web/Microsoft store. I uninstalled reinstalled my driver's, did a bios update everything I could think of. Still no Nvidia control panel. So I had to wipe my OS Drive and reinstall Windows fresh from an installation media. Everything is working fine now and my system is running on DCH Drivers. I don't yet know if there is any performance loss or gain or if it's the same. I do know that for my system to just switch driver types after a random windows update my OS to just lose apps that it now needs to update other apps and things is strange. Has anyone else had any similar issues and what are your thoughts on these DCH Drivers? From what I read they are supposed to me universal for maximum compatibility for different systems. But my experience so far was just a headache.
