Is there any software someone would recommend for making the mic sound louder? I dont know what happened to my laptop that suddenly the mic volume got really low, I've checked all the settings on windows and nothing, I dont think its the headset becuase no matter what headphones I plugged in, the volume of the mic is really low. I've considered reseting my laptop to factory setting to see if that fixes it.

Which laptop and headphones do you use?
My laptop is an Inspiron 15 300 series (Its very old I know) and the headset well i dont really remember the brand but im getting some razer kraken x next week. but no matter what I plugg in it still has the mic volume very low.

You can try what @nekonesaki posted above. Or else the laptop's mic hardware is worn out.
Regardless of that, if you connect a earphones/headset it should work properly as its external. Also try updating the sound card on the laptop to the latest version.

Thanks a lot. I’ll try upgrading the sound card. And about what nekonesaki posted, I have tried that a lot of times and it hasn’t worked.

Check and try updating the sound cards on your laptop.
Else you will have to get an external sound card and connect it to the laptop. That should do the trick. There are many in the market, it depends on budget and the location.
